JEBUS.

I am not a fan of earthquakes. Experiencing the ground moving is very disturbing to me. Afterwards I sit for hours, terrified that suddenly the ground is going to open up and swallow me whole.

There was an earthquake earlier today. I was here alone, the screen on my laptop (sitting on my lap) started flopping back and forth, the cat go up with his ears back and "wtf is THAT?!" look on his face.

I sat in a cold sweat for a while...then I thought maybe it was just the construction down the street. Maybe a blast or something...though there was no noise. Checked out a government website, and sure enough there was a 4.3 earthquake basically right in the city. Gross.

I got over it. I went on with my day.

....Two hours later, I feel a small rumble begin and look at my glass of water on the coffee table which starts sloshing back and forth. I was like "Ok, forget this" and walked into the bedroom. I figured if I got up and moved around I wouldn't feel the building moving. The bedroom is safer anyway. In the living room I'm sitting beside a 15' by 20' window. Talk about slice 'n dice!

Anyway...two earthquakes in two hours? NO THANK YOU.

I hear you - there was an earthquake in the Midwest a while back and for probably a week I had serious issues sleeping (it was at 4AM and the initial jolt before the shaking even started woke me up... so I lay there going "What was th- OMG" when it started shaking.)

Tornadoes I can do.
Earthquakes... pass, please.

Probably one earthquake and an aftershock ;)

I've been in earthquakes and hurricanes. I'll take the earthquake any day. The hurricane wasn't all that traumatic, but it made a helluva mess. Where I live now is in a part of a valley that doesn't really get the tornados. They go through some of the surrounding counties -- and really do seem to just hit trailer parks -- but we haven't had one in this area since I've lived here.

LMAO, I was at work and the power kept going off. Between power flickers I posted to my Facebook "I DON'T WANT TO DIE AT THE RADIO STATION."
That was basically asking for it, we decided.

For som' reason I don't get scared during quakes... grew up with them...you get used to it ;)
Same here. I grew up in CA so I was definitely used to them. I've seen a couple tornados and been through two hurricanes... I don't like hurricanes at all because of the aftermath... blech... tornados... well... I'm afraid of being in the path of one, BUT I am also very intrigued by them.

Yup, that. I've been through about three or four really good ones. (I was in LA for the Northridge Quake about 15 years ago)

They're usually over by the time you realize what they are. (Usually I just thought I was starting to faint, and was seeing everything shake and wiggle from being about to pass out!)

I hope for your sake they're done though!
