New Dog Chat Room!!!!

Okay, please tell me if I'm just completely missing something. Is there some way to show who's in the chat room at any given time without actually logging in to it? I've looked several times to see if there was any traffic, and it's always been empty. It occured to me that the scandalously few I've seen (sorry, I've spent the majority of my computer time rummaging around in legal sites) have something that tells you there are X number of people in the chat room, or A, B and C are in the chat room.

Yeeesh, that sounded incredibly stupid.
 
Yes, you will see the members listed on the right at present. I am working on a way to show users in the forum now. Just isn't ready.

I also still have to link it up throughout the site so peeps can find it.
You shouldn't have to log on to chat if you are already signed up at the forum.

I thought Chaz had just set things up so that there was an identifying photo that came up with your name. Silly, clueless me! I know NOTHING of the mechanics of setting up these things - as if you hadn't figured that out already! :D
 
I love the idea of the chat room, but there is never anyone in it. Is there a way we can see who is online and then invite them into the chat room?

The Dog Forum home page, which lists all of the sub forums has a "who's online" list at the bottom of the page. You can then PM someone to invite them in.

Chaz could also probably enable some sound scripting, so that if you are logged into the Chat Room and someone logs in you could hear an audible cue.
 
I will be working some with it this weekend. I am still learning how it all works. It should be better soon :)
