New and in need of advice

Thanks a lot Saje, arent they a bunch of morons? I dont know where else I will check now for a dog. So, my search starts from step one, locating a shelter.

Yeah, I just cant believe some people anymore. I cant wait to get a dog, I have a feeling we will be best friends, and will go through everything together. Now I understand how some people can relate better to animals than to humans.

Thanks, I have found a staffordshire terrier that looks to be ok, but I most likely wont get him due to him being located at the same crappy shelter.

I'd have to say that might be a good idea not to try them again, although I would certainly give them a piece of my mind, maybe they would do a fast adoption for you since they screwed up so bad with Chico. Just a thought.

I really feel bad for the dog. I saw him in his cage, and he just whimpered. He seems pretty mellow, but I dont want to try that place again. Too much frustration. I was down the whole day due to their irresponsible attitudes. Its too much for me to handle all over again.

I wrote them too but proably won't hear until monday. I told them that they should give you an apology and let you know what's available. Have you checked into the Animal Protective Foundation in Scotia ??? 518-374-3944. They seem to have some great dogs. Elinetc really liked the lab she had. We both would be willing to do the trip for you, but it's so far and what if you don't bond ?? Distance is so hard !!!

The shelters. You might get a better response from the shelters if you e-mailed them instead of calling, since they don't seem to want to answer their phones.

My dogs stay loose in the house, but a lot of people either crate them or keep them in a dog proof room.
