Creasy turned a year old and it was time to check him out before we go high gear in training. I'm no ortho but look sorta ok to me, what do y'all think? I plan to send to the SV for A-Stamp review.
I've seen worse hips but I wouldn't call either of them amazing; the right looks like it's going to have more laxity than the left, for what it's worth. I'd probably be concerned with that left elbow.
Hips look good. Right elbow looks good. Left elbow...looks a bit concerning to me...but elbows are hard to read. Judges X rays are on my site if you want to compare them to Creasys. Sometimes it is easier having an already rated set to compare with.
For a GSD the hips look pretty good IMHO. I suspect you'll get a OFA good on them. GSDs are notorious even in working lines for having somewhat shallow sockets compared to oh say a lab.
That elbow... I'm not so sure about. Since they're prelims I wouldn't stress it too much, it's possible it's a bad shot since the elbow seems somewhat overflexed but I would go for an official stamp right at 2 years old.
These won't be Pre-Lims. He is sending them to Germany for an A-Stamp rating. They do those at 12 months old. It is official and the last rating he will get for hips and elbows. I have seen better hips i. GSDs but they look good.
Yes, these films are going to Germany for his A-Stamp evaluation. We have no doubt he will pass. By the time our dogs are 2yr old they are working at the IPO3 level so we prefer to certify them at 1 year.
