I'll give you a little backgroud on Hutch (my Saint), for those of you who have not heard his story. We found out about him when he was 10 months old. He was available for adoption, but was in need of serious help both mentally and physically. He had been removed from animal control from his first home because he was left chained outside as a young pup without food/shelter etc. His second home ended up going through a divorce and he was further neglected and again removed from his home. When he came to us he was severely malnourished, bald on half of his body, and terrified of the world. His 30inch Saint frame barely weighed 90lbs.
Now years later, he is 34 inches at the shoulder, weighs 185 (just had a weigh in at the vets (he has dropped just over 4lbs from his last visit) and he is almost bomb proof!! He still has some reactivity towards strange dogs, however he has come a long way! At his whopping 185lbs, he believes that he is a 4lb chi who can fit in my lap, and I let him think that as we snuggle on the couch every night after we eat dinner. ALthough we have three dogs in our house, and I love them all, he is my heart dog.
