he's an 11 month old boxer named Vince. he's eating Nutro lamb and rice formula food. he's not sick or anything - he's actually been to the vet recently and he's fine. he just always has pretty loose stools. any suggestions?

how much are you feeding at one time and how many times a day? splitting it up into two feeds might reduce the onslought. I had a lab with terrible gas (it was the food but i didn't know better then) and a friend dosed him up with mylanta every night, I don't recommend that because i don't know if it is ok, didn't do him any harm but he swallowed a tennis ball and that didnt' bother him either. He was very big. I know there are additives you can give, canned pumpkin i think is suppose to help bind that stool up a little, and adding some yogurt might improve his overall digestion. I am sure someone here knows more about this end of things then i do.

You could try adding probiotics and/or digestive enzymes to his diet. I've heard that can help. You could also try a different food. I would try one with a different carbohydrate.

Giardia will also cause these symptoms. I would suggest speaking with your vet.

I would also recommend a food change. Try a different protein/carb source. If he's not sick and this is common for him, then that tells me his food does not agree with him. Not all foods are right for all dogs. He probably needs a switch and an UPGRADE from Nutro. Here are some ideas:
