Beautiful dogs!! I just looked them up, are they really 35-55 lbs full grown? Hard to imagine, there is quite a bit of resemblance between long coated German Shepherds and Bohemian Shepherds that I assumed the latter breed was medium - large.

Megie is lovely and the puppy Saidi is just adorable.

They get to be around 18-25kg, which I believe is around 35 - 55 pounds ... ? Megie is actually 25.5kg right now herself.

Here is a page about the breed, which are commonly known where I live as Chodský Pes. I clicked the english flag for you to link, but if it is not in english, you will see the flag option to make it that way. :)

Thank you for the welcome and replies.

Thank you very much for the link, it was very interesting and helpful!!

It is easier to see size when they are pictured next to people, now I can see how they are around 20 kg

(pulled these all from the website you linked me) :)

Although this dog looks a bit on the larger side - probably all that coat. Are they commonly used for Schutzhund competition?

Very beautiful dogs.

They are, yes. Though they are actually commonly used for many activities. Many I know who own them have their dogs trained in Schutzhund, Herding, Agility, Dogdancing, and Dogfrisbee. Myself included. :)

Oh how cute! Thanks for the link, it was interesting to learn about them. When I saw the "Bohemia" I wondered if they were Czech! My youngest Malinois is a Czech import, is that where you live? Maybe you can help me translate the CMKU stuff. ;-)

It's odd knowing so many on here have not even heard of them. I pretty much am surrounded by them in life. In fact, myself and a couple of my good friends just the other day went cross-country skiing and they both own the breed as well, and brought theirs with, and I brought Megie.

Is nice to be able to introduce you all to them though!

:D
