I was checking out sites because I am aquiring some "bugs," not mosquitos...but they had this info on one site. I live in Reno, where there is not many mosquitos, but have lived in Florida, Georgia and Boston... this guy seems to have some method to his madness...lol. Might be worth looking at... just wanted to share.

Mosquitos
OK, mosquitos...prepare to be repelled!!!!!

Use Bounce Fabric Softener Sheets...Best thing ever used in
Louisiana..just wipe on & go...Great for Babies

Bob, a fisherman, takes one vitamin B-1 tablet a day
April through October . He said it works. He was right.
Hasn't had a mosquito bite in 33 years. Try it.
Every one he has talked into trying it works on them.
Vitimin B-1( Thiamine Hydrochloride 100 mg.)

If you eat bananas,
the mosquitos like you, - something about the banana oil
as your body processes it.
Stop eating bananas for the summer and the mosquitos
will be much less interested.

This is going to floor you, but one of the best
insect repellents someone found (who is in the woods
every day), is Vick's Vaporub.

Plant marigolds around the yard, the flowers give off
a smell that bugs do not like,
so plant some in that garden also to help ward
off bugs without using insecticides.

"Tough guy" Marines who spend a great deal of time
"camping out" say that the very best mosquito
repellant you can use is
Avon Skin-So-Soft bath oil mixed about
half and half with alcohol.

One of the best natural insect repellants that I've discovered
is made from the clear real vanilla. This is the pure
vanilla that is sold in Mexico. It works great for mosquitoes and
ticks,
don't know about other insects.

ahhh the mozzies lol the bane of an Aussies existance.

My husband is a qualified pest control technician, and yep he hates them too LOL.

If I may add to that, most bugs including Mozzies hate eucalytpus oil. Alot of people here in Oz wipe it neat around their door frames ect, spray it diluted around the house. It's wonderful stuff, I use it for dusting disinfecting. Brilliant.

In the summer, which is what we are in here. After the sun goes down and its time to water the garden, we are plagued by them, and have to use repellents (spray or roll on version) just to water the garden in peace

Eucalyptus oil is a natural insect repellent. So too are Chrysanthemum's which have natural Pyrethrins in them, which is an insecticide :)

I hate those pesky little rascals. We have them throughout the year. They never seem to die. We bought a fogger, it has helped immensely.

since i have killed 4 IN MY HOUSE last month and this i am glad to know..the water leak underneath may have had something to do but i don't know..with the warm winter i suspect an evil blood draining summer. I have a cistern (sp?) out in my front yard that has been boarded up but i suspect to be a true breeder of billions..i am going to throw down some mosquito pellets in it this spring. Last year you simply couldn't use the yard it was that bad.
