MIDWEST CHAZZERS - We Need a Meetup!

I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO looking forward to the meetup! ITS COMIN UP SOON GUYS!!!!!

what hotels are people thinking of staying at?

Even though im only an hour north of the meetup- i need a vacation, so I will most likely be staying at one of the hotels. but I think it would be fun if all of the chazzers stayed at the same hotel!
 
OKAY FOLKS... less than a month to go! I'm figuring out some party favors, so let me know if you're coming for sure. :D:D:D

I will be there on Sunday. Late Saturday night if I can swing it. Meaning, if Zoom wants to share costs, my kids and I will only be there for half of it to share costs and twin-ness.
 
Hillside - that might work - because I think Saturday night is all anyone will need for hotels. Unless people would rather drive in on Saturday night.

INPUT NEEDED:

Here's the plan - Saturday afternoon will mark the "start" of the midwest meetup. We'll go on a leashed hike at either Peterson Pits or McCarthy Park (very pretty scenery, hills and prairies, some water) to get all the dog acquainted. Then, drop dogs off at hotel/house/etc. and have late lunch/early dinner - all signs are pointing to Hickory Park. Then, take dogs to small offleash doggy park in Ames. Retire for the night.

Sunday - give everyone ample time to sleep in, get breakfast etc. since I know some people are driving quite a distance to get to this. Head down to Des Moines (Hillside's town, yea!) and go to the larger dog park. Then dog shopping - Aunt Mimi's, IA Pet, Bone Apatreat, etc. Have lunch somewhere - either back up in Ames, or in Des Moines.

HERE'S WHERE I NEED INPUT: Is there anythign you'd like to see added/deleted? Any concerns? Any suggestions on anything? I think Saturday night will be spontaneous, since I don't know what everyone will be up for. Shopping is better in Des Moines for non-dog stuff, but there are no guarantees it'll be cool enough to leave dogs in cars. SOOOO.... ANY AND ALL SUGGESTIONS ARE WELCOME!

Oh and HILLSIDE - do you know of any places in Des Moines with patio dining areas, where we could eat lunch with the dogs?
 
I missed this... I'll be in Illinois by the time this rolls around. I'd really like to come if I can. :)
 
Is it okay if my cousin comes along? I'd prefer to not have to make the drive alone. lol
 
My attendence is looking pretty iffy at the moment...I"ll keep you updated if anything changes though.
 
If I'm coming, I'm most likely heading out there the week before the meetup. Meaning I probably won't be in attendance. :(

I'm going to try, but I need to make bills, oil change and new tires before I do much of anything fun. So if you want to toss some parties my way or something, that'd be awesome.
 
I wish i could, i am afraid my trip to the mod meet is all i can afford to do. IF things are different next year, and i pray they are, i will try my best because i would love to meet all of you and your dogs.
 
Id come if I knew where Iowa was and I could get time off, but I don't and I have none. Ya'll should come to WI! We get good Thunderstorms! >_<
