I've been considering joining this forum for a while but was dragging my feet when my arm finally got twisted... so here I am. Still, it feels like my first day at a new school...

My dog's name is Paco and I'm Ana Poe. He's a 7 year old APBT, though far from registered, unless there's a BYB of Oakland registry I'm not aware of. Well, to be fair, his AKC ILP show name is "Sir-Pouts-A-Lot" so he's kind of registered ;).

Together we own Pirate, the Siamese Cross, and run a company, Paco Collars (wwwpacocollars.com). We make handmade leather dog collars and leashes.

We're pretty active in the rescue community around the Bay Area, especially with BADRAP.org. My latest project is coordinating their annual "Tuff Love" art show, though this year I hand the reins off to someone else (woohoo!).

Anyhow, I heard there are serious repercussions for not posting pics so here are some of my favorites:

Paco then

Paco now

Paco and Pirate

Okay, I'm gonna stop there. But I'm really excited to meet everyone here! And I hope I succeeded in posting these pics correctly... I always get confused with new technology!

p.s. also, I'm having trouble sizing the signature... I get it down to the correct pixel size but then it's still too large a file... help?

Welcome to the forum.

Shame on you for owning that obviously vicious beast. :D

More photos, please. He has a kinship with Ella, as you will see.

Great ears!

I've seen pics of Ella and she actually has an uncanny resemblance to our old housemate, Doe-Koo. Here's the proof (Doe-Koo on left Paco on right)

Doe-Koo came from a fight bust and showed up on someone's front doorstep all covered in fresh woulds. All those grey hairs on his face were old scars. But he lived an great, super dog social life until he passed away from an insane brain anurism (sp?). It was so sad, one day he was fine and a week later he couldn't walk, and he was only 5, but he had a great life. In fact, his owner and me became friends because of our dogs' resemblance!

And thanks for the compliments on our products! It feels good to know we're not the only ones who like our stuff ;)

I visited your website, your products are BEAUTIFUL, and went straight to my wish list.

:D

I want collars with the names of my dogs etched or stitched on them.

Maybe someday.

I love your collars too! But, I think for now at least, they're a bit out of my "collar price" budget! I think I am single handedly keeping my vet in business, perhaps someday this will stop and then I can get one! LOLOLOLOLOL.

Welcome welcome welcome! Good to see you here!

And I absolutely hate your collars, they are icky and ooky... and that's why I have lots of them and recommend them to everyone I meet. :D

Yes, and your dogs don't do a thing for our goods... and that's why we blatantly use them in our advertising *wink*

Actually, it's funny because I didn't time it like this on purpose, but we'll be announcing a new contest either later today or tomorrow (depending on how fast I photoshop) so you can win a free Paco Collar. Our mailing list will be sent the notice first followed be a general announcement on the website so, if you've been wanting one but it's not in the budget, there's about to be a way to win a free one.

But in general I'd like to keep my business out of this forum, mostly because, as anyone who works for themselves knows, there's very little distinction between work and personal life. It's kind of refreshing to go to a place and just be yourself versus just representing a company. And, frankly, I'm a dog nerd and enjoy a place to geek out.

So, yeah, to talk collars send inquiries through the website or to [email protected] and here are more pics of the torture I like to put my dog through:

At Christmas time (he was "Crumpet" the disgruntled elf)

And at Halloween (though I also make him wear this around Easter time)

With foster puppy "Tank" (who is now 80 lb "Owen")

And posing with a portrait of himself

I am joining the ranks of people who are insanely impressed and dehydrated due to drooling over your collars.... beautiful work...... and Paco's a beautiful dog...... but I gotta say Pirate stole my heart.

Well then, for you:

FYI, that is not my incredibly fancy house in the background. My friends Tom and Mike have an amazing house in the Berkeley Hills and I begged them to let me use it for a photo shoot. I wish they would just adopt me already.

Welcome to Chaz!

I am also guilty of drooling over collars ;)

I also needed a place for my "dog" nerd to come out, and believe me, you've come to the right place.

Paco is adorable!

Oooh, Paco is going to go from internet dog to a CHAZ dog. Wooohooo! He's OUR'S now.

I will also confess to collar drooling and Miss Soggy dog will be getting her Paco collar once I actually make up mind as to what she is going to get. ( Now THAT could take a while.) Django might get one eventually, but since Saga LOVES to eat HIS collars, it will be a while. Darn bratty Dobermans.

I am looking forward to getting to know you and your crew, so welcome to Chaz! We tend to support our member's endeavors on a grand scale, so I wouldn't be surprised to see a spike in sales, just look at how many of us have Ella's leads. ;) Don't worry though, we don't really drag that sort of thing out of the petsites forum.

Another collar drooler here. I have a deep desire for some matching, studded black leather collars scaled to my dogs sizes. Sigh. they would look soooooo good in them.....

Anyway, welcome to the forum, and your dog is lovely.

PS - how is Paco doing after his double TPLO? Is he back to hiking and splooshing in the ocean?
