I just want to make one thing clear.

I do not smoke because I am not happy. I am VERY happy. happier than I ever imagined I could have been. I have a wonderful husband, a super cute puppers and possibly a new puppers, I have a great job, awesome friends. And other than immigration, I have little to zero stress.

I just enjoy it. I like to hang out with friends and have a puff and a few beers and just talk and laugh the night away. It is especially wonderful when I am feeling sick to my stomach and when I am on my "lady time" LOL. Which is particularly bad and painful for me. Plus it saves Brian from most of my PMS lol. (which can also get pretty bad lol) sometimes we just like to sit at home, rent a funny movie and have a puff. We don't spend all our money on it. We have an abundance of food and are able to afford to do things we enjoy quite easily.

Anything can be misused and get out of hand. Those people that smoke to the point where they can't even buy food would use something else if pot weren't available. if pot didn't exsist they would use something else as a vice.

question for everyone.

what do you think the chances are that if pot becomes legal we are going to have a sudden uprise in misusers? I personally think that if they wouldn't buy it or try it when it was a illegal that they are suddenly going to go out and get hooked. Pot is as easy to get as cigarettes almost. People who want to smoke it already do. I just have my doubts that if it is legalized suddenly everyone is going to jump on the bandwagon. of course there will be some who do but I really don't think it is going to cause a ruckus (sp?) lol

Please , youngsters , don't think that this tread is saying that it's fine to smoke it . Never try anything just to be cool . I was over 35 and took 1 hit to see what all the hype was about . Wasn't impressed . To me it should be legalized only for medical reasons .

When you are underage, I think pot is actually easier to get than cigs. It's incredibly easy to get. I think most people who want to do it are already doing it.

most likely all the people who have been on the fence about it would probably approach their "friends with weed" and ask questions or even try it out. i agree with you, it won't be that big of a deal to people who don't already smoke.

I'd also like to echo what Grammy just said...........I also don't condone younger people smoking pot. It really can lead to other drugs, especially with younger people. I choose not to smoke it anymore, because I have a 16 year old son and I don't want him to smoke it. I have to practice what I preach!!;) I do have friends, however who are my age and smoke it, and they're able to function very well in life. Some people can't.

If they made it legal today, no it wouldnt change much right away. But what about 5 years later when the 9 and 10 year olds of today become teenagers? You don't think more would try it because it's legal? Kids have a hard enough time with peer pressure. Why legalize a drug that could encourage more kids to try. With all the bans on cig smoking everywhere, why legalize something else to be smoked?

No...I don't think it would make kids try it more if it were legalized. Like someone said in a thread before....it's easier for kids to get then cigs. JMHO though for what it's worth!;)

I suppose your right. Now thinking about it, if they did legalize it they would have a age limit on it, maybe it'd actually be harder for them to get.

dang... I was planning to find out where you live, invite myself in, and blow weed smoke all up in your face! =( My ploy is ruined, now. lawls!
Well, hah! I foiled your plan with my own genius "please don't'. So much for your life of evil crime;) .

I went to a college with a very active pot community. It really is amazing to me that people will just walk up, sit next to someone, and light up (whatever their smoke of choice is). Again, I don't really care what people do on their own.

I was reading a thread like this on another forum I go to, and I found myself wondering what Chazzers would say and think about it.
So:

What are your guys' views on it?

Do you think it should be legalized?

Do you smoke it?

Have you tried smoking it?
Loved it when I smoked it :D ! Didn't even try it till I was 22 and stopped after I found out I was pregnant at (26) and never touched it again! I suffered from severe migrane headaches before I had my daughter and it seemed to help :p As far as if it should be legalized I'd say "yes" why not? Its an herb from the earth and its green so it can't be that bad  ! :lol-sign: JK!

Which is why the issue of relative morality is relavant in the first place.
I think where we are not crossing paths on this is the seperation of Universal Morality from personal/relative morality.

If a thing is universal I beleave it cant, by definition be relative/personal.

I am content to agree to disagree.

But I just want to point out that I never said that universal morality=relative morality. In fact, I said that they are two separate categories that exist simultaneously.

Don't most people at some point have some deep and meaningful conversation after a joint? (even if it is with a house plant) :lol-sign:
LOL! Had an ex who would get smoked up, then he wouldn't SHUT UP. He'd go on and on and on and on and on repeating and repeating and repeating and repeating the same FREEKIN THING over and over and over and over and over again. When my eyes would glaze over he'd start poking me and telling me "listen . . . this is important!"

Finally I'd have to play on the paranoia and tell him, "Roger, I love you but if you don't shut up and leave me alone I'm going to have to kill you." :D Then I'd give him some paints and a pad of paper and tell him to go paint what he wanted to tell me . . .
