Female dogs for one particular reason - that 'thing' males grow on their bellies, of all places. :lol-sign:

I LOVE petting & kissing my pets' bellies, both cats & dogs. From the time they're little I pick them up and drop them over my face so I can kiss their little bellies or give them 'raspberries' if I'm playing with them, and they all love it. As a result, I have a lot of pets that lay around on their backs knowing they're going to get some lovin' at some point. :lol-sign:

Both male dogs I've owned never did the raised leg. Fergus does the squat thing position, much more dignified.:D

I like male and female dogs, I don't think stereotypes work, dogs are so individual. Just about the time I start to believe one, the exception pops up.:)

My preference is for females. I like a bit more of an indepent dog, one who can think on their own as well, and I find a lot of females to have that type of personality. I'm not a fan of the "cling-on" dogs, and I love the challenege of training a head strong, intelligent, independant female. I find the males to be a little too, well, umm, sucky I guess would be a good word - LOL. My female JRT has a mind of her own, and doesn't dote upon everyone, and doesn't have to follow constantly because she knows your their, and makes it her choice to be involved or not. My male OEB is a suck, you leave a room, he has to follow and constantly be on top of you, can't do anything without you. I had a female doberman who was the sucky, cling-on, a female dachshund who was fairly independent (until she got sick) and a male westie who is fairly clingy, but will do his own thing at times. I like the female moods (not really sure why, guess i can relate to it - LOL!), and their personalities seem to be a little more indepth.
Though I do believe that temperment and breed have a lot to do with the personality (as well if the dog has any behavioural issues). I prefer the "terrier attitude" and independence, which is a lot different from the doberman attachement, and the doting retirever personality. :D

I like males. I don't really know why. I've just always liked boys more.

what was the saying?
"Dogs think you hung the moon, bitches think you hung it for them"

Being a girl, i prefer to be worshipped. ;)

I would have said males before, but Zoey is such a sweetheart. I would have to say that I truly like both and it just depends on the individual dog. I would like to have one of each someday.

I like males. I have had both male and female dogs. for some weird reason my females have all had issues with aggression... human aggression and dog aggression. The males were more goofy and playfull.

My females were more klingy than my males, but that might have to do with breed.

Females Love you..but..Males are IN LOVE with you.

I have found that males are just big lovers. Females love, but more on their terms.

I prefer boys. But i think my next dog will probably be a girl just to keep buster happy.

i know the general rule is that boys will fight with boys and girls will fight with girls but in our lot if somethin escalates and they fight its always mac on harry and buster on sophie. So that rule just goes out the window here.

that said, Buster definetly gets on wiht Mac better than Harry

I have had both. My first female was a good dog but liked to do her own thing. My second girl was a cling on and very well trained but I think alot of that was because she was abused before I got her.My boys were mommas boys and followed me everywhere. My only dog now is a male 1 year old (yesterday) Pomeranian and he is such a mommas boy I know its not helping that I spoil him.But he is coming along great in his training. He is my heart dog so I have to say my favourite is males but I would never turn away a female.

I have only ever had males dogs. I really like to be worshipped, so I suppose it all works out :p.

However, I think my next dog will be a bitch. I'd really like to give the females a try :).

I have only had girls. I definitely want a male for my next dog, if only because he'd be more likely to get along with my girls. I keep reading about how the males are more affectionate and not as moody; it sounds like it would be a nice change for me!

I do prefer males..I love their lovey dovey- "i'll do anything for you" attitude..I've only owned 2 female dogs. Chloe is very independent, she's affectionate and lovey when she feels like it, and thats the only time..but I guess since we got Freckles, I can't say that this is true with all females..this girl has stolen my heart.

Females can be great in there own way,if you understand them and if they are the "only dog",but they can get very tempermental and jealous of other dogs.
Males tend to be more your best buddy and shadow and very loyal to the end.
They both are great in there differant ways, but I tend to prefere males a little more.
