*backstory*
when my brother and i were young, if we got into a fight, my mom would make us sit on the couch next to each other. usually it was my brother getting punished (even though i was the bully...
). She'd tell him to tell me he was sorry and hug me and give me a kiss...usually resulted in a mumbled "sorry" and one arm carefully going around my shoulders, trying to avoid cooties. Or he'd hug me really hard and try and squish me. Brat.
Anyway, Milo's "auntie tiffany" (backwards_cinderella) sent him some banana cookies. my dogs don't even like cookies much, but they LOVE these. They go totally nuts over them. (i'm not sure why...they smelled so good i tasted one. blech.).
I gave Milo a pretty big one yesterday morning. He ate some of it and then "buried" the rest in my bed. (he normally leaves cookies lying around everywhere, but he makes sure to hide these really good. I found one under the vaccuum cleaner.)
Anyway, last night he took it out and was about to chomp it down when Ginger went over and sniffed it. Milo got mad and snarled at her pretty meanly and chased her away. I was upstairs but i heard it and came down...my mom was there and apparently as soon as my mom looked up he bolted under the bed. He more or less punishes himself, that dog. He HATES getting in trouble more than anything.
About an hour later I was ready for bed. My mom was lying on the couch with Ginger and I went to get Milo out of the Bad Dog Lair. When i called him he came slinking over all ears down and everything, but then i think he realized i wasn't there to see his crime so he started acting totally normal.
When we got in the living room and he saw my mom he slinked around the edge of the room avoiding her to go outside. When i let him back in he slinked to the other room and started sniffing for his cookie (Benji ate it while Mi was in self-proclaimed time-out). I could tell my mom wanted to say goodnight to him (she does every night) and make up, so i called him in. He came slinking in and hid behind my legs (keep in mind she never even raised her voice at him, merely looked up when she heard him).
She said "what did you do?"
*crawl over and try and look super cute*
She picks him up, puts him on the couch, and says:
"apologize to Ginger".
He looked at Ginger and did sad head-down tilt and whined.
Ginger looked at him with her evil Ginger look.
Mom said "give her kisses"
He looked up at Mom like "JEEZ woman, didn't you see her try and steal my cookie?"
Mom said "She didn't try and get your cookie"
He licked Ginger once on the head then looked back at Mom like "happy?"
Haha, it was pretty cute. Then i felt bad and got him another cookie because he kept looking for his. He took it upstairs and fell asleep on it There are banana dog biscuit crumbs all over my bed.
