So sorry she is having a tough time. Hopefully she will adapt a bit to the increased heat. Could you maybe buy a cheap used treadmill and set a fan up in front of it to let her do her walks inside? Then you could do trick training and nose work in a cool room to work her mind if the outdoors are too much for her.

Maybe it's time to get a specialist involved? It just doesn't seem right that it's worsening so fast. :(

I've been in tears off and on all day. We did our ORT and she did pass but barely. She wasn't herself at all. The lady working the gate has never met us before and she asked if Mia was a lot older than Summer. :(

I'm thinking about getting a specialist but not sure what they can do. We're at home now and she's being naughty and goofy. My dad said maybe she just needs to be a hang around the house kind of dog now. But she's just not that kind of dog. And I already miss going on long hikes with her.

I just don't even know. I'm going to go cuddle her for a bit.

Sucks, I'm so sorry. :(

How is her heart? I did a little research and it doesn't look like heart issues are common in Papillons, but couldn't hurt to check anyway.

Honestly? They can look at everything and, worst case, tell you that you are already doing everything you can do. Which I think may be reassuring in a way to me. Best case, they see more cases than the average vet and have some other thoughts on how to help her.

So sorry Lauren, I can't even imagine how you're feeling and know what Mia means to you, and that involves all the activities you two do together. Keeping you both in my thoughts and sending all my love <3 This is so unfair.

(((((hugs))))) I'm so sorry Lauren. I don't have any other words and these feel useless.

Thanks. Her heart has been looked at and it looks good and not enlarged. She is acting much more herself today though which is a relief. I hope it lasts.

It's almost 100 outside and she's dealt with potty breaks and walking to and from the car really well.

Still going to talk to my vet.

Do you think the stress/anxiety of the ORT was getting to her? Even just your stress? I hope she was just having an off day. I would definitely see a specialist if possible, because you just never know. Of course, I'd also be researching like a fiend on my own, but I know you already are.

Oh no! I am so so sorry that Mia is struggling. Big hugs.

I hope you're able to find a specialist and at least get a second opinion and maybe some meds.

Thanks guys. It is hard and I wish they could just talk for a minute to let us know what is going on.

She does stress some. I don't know... she was fine yesterday filming and crating for a few hours.
