They seem to think she is ready. She has calmed down. Mom has had me checking for the last few days and each time I did all I ever saw was inhale deep, exhale deep. I was surprised when I checked in and she was moving all over the place. Will keep checking. Wonder what scarred her face up so much. The other bear they have clips from her cubs wasn't like that.

years and years ago, when the live panda birth was broadcast on the internet, i watched that and the subsequent weeks following. got some great webcam shots, too! i'm glad they are letting the outside world in on this stuff so easily now. it's so fun!

I found a baby photo of her, I was wanting to see why her face is the way it is, but I haven't found recent photos yet. STill looking.
She was a cutie.

I told my MOm who calls for updates that a sleeping bear sure makes me want to take a nap.

smkie..just a quick update on Jewel..not sure if you're still watching, but she apparently had twin cubs this morning! Just checked the feed, but she must be a tired momma, can't see the cubs, or much of her. Hope all goes well for her and her babies.
