He's beautiful!! I'm betting your hunch (Golden/Chessie mix) is correct. He looks very much like a Golden but with the Chessie 'fro:p . Chessies have no black pigment, so I don't think he would be pure Chessie. He is a looker though. What a find! Have you taken him swimming yet?

Not yet !! Do Chessie's have a coarser hair than Goldens ??? He does have darker reddish hair on one toe and a patch on this left rear haunch about 4 " in size. Wish he could tell me about his Mom and Dad !!

Snark ... glad my hearing is good !! He took a kleenex box off the table, but luckily had only pulled out 4 ! Sure glad he likes his kennel ! With this heat, he can't go shopping with me and I KNOW what I'd come home to !

Yup, 'snow'. (See? He's just trying to keep things 'cool' with a winter wonderland look. Such a considerate boy! Lol!) My mother's Rottie is the same way, except she only shreds paper when she thinks they've been gone too long.

I wrote it on another link.... he walked into the shower with me and stood like a gentleman while I shampooed, rinsed and added cream rinse. Then when out went wild rolling on spread out towels. I combed him when he was still damp so really did curl up ! In fact was less curly today , but more wave. What I DIDN'T post.... I always dilute the shampoo and it wasn't until I put the gallon jug away , I saw I used Murphy's Oil instead of the Fresh n' Clean !!! Same color !! Geez Louise Grammy !!! Didn' seem to make him itch or anything and was well rinsed . BAD GRAMMY!!!!

I didn't know what I had used... I always rinse until squeeky clean. I know it's not harsh as by hands are never affected and I've used it for years cleaning leather. I have ordered more shampoo , yes I was out and had forgotten, and will give another bath as I love the smell which lasts for weeks.

Ollie was a gentleman and well received at the Clinic today . Weighed in at 79 #s , All thought him about 1 1/2 yrs. and ALL said Golden/Chessie !! Vetted clean , ears and teeth admired ( excellent bite ) ... greeted all dogs without ripping my arm off and even met a Chessie.!! The hair was a little shorter than Ollies, but definitely the same feel. Walked in and out without any pulling and hopped right up in the scales.....by golly !! ....good dog Ollie !
