I am kinda torn on it. Obviously this dog did not hurt the owner. It should have maybe been quarantined until the autopsy report was in.
But remember the cops and ac out here see a lot of dogs that are brought up horribly and will bite/fight/no one is going to rehome etc etc. And on one of the news sites a commenter said the family did not want to take responsibility for the dog. I don't know if thats true(sure wouldn't make the story as heart wrenching) or not though.
I love dobes.pitties,rotts,any breed that can be more challenging. But in the hands of some of these idiots out there I would rather see breed bans. Every day I drive to work I see young hood rat kids with itty bitty pit/rott pups. Often the same kids
Supposedly what they do here is pay kids under eighteen to raise the dogs so they do not get caught with a house full of dogs and if the kid gets caught it is usually not that big of a deal I would rather there be breed bans in inner cities vs this. There are good owners but here its not one or two bad the paper exploits-its a ton. You see if driving around. Since we are not allowed to ban people I don't see what will help. Our cops are getting killed,can not ask why are you not out busting these dog fighting rings.
