Soon to be pennyless if I don't make some plans. Really sucks. 
thanks guys. It's a small town and it's been in an economic slump for 5 years. About 10,000 people from the surrounding area have moved away in that time. It's a little hard to find work in the media. I'm sure I'll have to move if I want FT at another paper. That would be ok even though I'm so in love with this area. Really love it here. I was hoping to stay forever. The problem with moving though is that the jobs are far far away. It's a BIG country. I'm going to try and be a "Northern Correspondent" for some of the bigger papers

Does Canada have any of those pet papers like we have anywhere? i couldn't think of a better person to be with one than you...you've probably thought of that..but i am just tossing ideas..I sent Renee my last two so i don't have the www. Urban Dog is where i posted the two sites dog year and the photographer..maybe you can start a branch where you are..the one i sent renee is super popular here.

I am very sorry. That it is a life altering event, but it doesn't mean it has to alter your life in a bad way. I believe there is a wonderful job out there somewhere waiting for you to come claim it. A lot of things in life seem horrible, but turn out to be the very things that make our life better. I know its scary but keep believing in yourself and keep yourself open to new ideas. My thoughts are with you. Hang in there.

local paper supported by local businesses I found one.HA!.PawPrints kansascity
"all sorts of stuff about all kinds of pets" it is a free paper serving the entire kc area and has taken off quite well. I called to see what an ad would cost and they said 150 for a min which bumbed me out, but they do have quite a following.
www.pawprintskc.com and [email protected] publishers Dale and Stacy Smith i am seeing their paper in many more places than when it first started out. They have fabulous articles that i have posted here a few times..like the one written about www.M'shoogys.com. The articles remind me of what i think you would enjoy writting about and as you will see, it is about all kinds of things in the world, not just local. Tell ya what..i will send you a copy. That i know i can get to you without troubles.

it is just an idea but if you don't have anything like that i bet you of all people would know how to put a great animal thing together. Then you could control your own income AND be your own editor. Then you could write about any ol thing you wanted to. Kelly has met the publishers and said they are very down to earth people. They get their ink from her and so does a paper in another state..they use the ink for their mock ups and trade her advertising space for her business of ink jet refills kits. Sweet dreams..isn't one of the most obnoxious sayings that it is a blessing to lose your job becuase now you have all the new opportunities to look forward to? Who said that? Who ever it was didn't have utilities i think, at least not mine.
