Very sad story. A friend of a friend just passed away suddenly (early 40's), her only family and companion was her dog. My friend who knows the girl is 600 miles away - so asked if I would help, and take the dog ASAP, so he would not have to go to a shelter.

He seems like a really sweet dog- just got him home, and we have contacted a rescue for help placing him, but I think he will stay with me till a home is found. I haven't ever fostered officialy, as I have a bossy ACD girl- but they seem to be getting along OK.
We are not sure if he is a Rat or a Fox Terrier

I've had him a day now...and he seems very sweet. Gets along with my dogs, housebroken, rides in the car nice, walks nice, velcro'ish, sleeps on his bed, dosent get on the furniture..................so hopefully he will be a good prospect for a home quickly

He looks rat terrierish to me. I hope that he finds a home quickly. Those are some very sad circumstances. I bet the poor guy is so confused. :(

Yes- the Fox Terrier rescue (we were told he was a Fox T) said he is likely a Rat Terrier.
So we will contact Rat terrier rescue as well

Yes...he was sooooo miserable last night, very scared, but he has cheered up a bit today with a nice walk in the park and little treats etc,

His Mommy's funeral was today :(

:( That's so sad! I'm glad he's with good people to help him through this, as opposed to being in a shelter. Kudos to you! He's a good looking dog, I bet he'll be adopted fairly quickly ;)

Thanks all- I am hoping things will work out well for him- he is really turning out to be a super nice little dog, no bother at all, very easy to have around, no problems and no issues.

He is growling at my husband a little, but understandable, when the owner did at one point live with her father, apparently the father hated the dog........don't know any more than that, but he needs a little time and TLC with the man thing
