Apparently our vet clinic made a monetary donation to Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in Ella's name. It'll be used to further companion animal research and service at the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine.

Awwww!
A card came in the mail to us today from U of I CVM to let us know they made the donation in Ella's name.

Is it common for clinics to do something like this???

Well, whether or not it is, it made me cry happy tears.

Thats really nice of them!

I don't think its common, but some vets are just sweet like that!

My vet is prone to little things that make me go "aww", its part of the reason why I stuck with him, he really cares. which is so nice to see!

I've gotten cards and phone calls, but never a contribution in a beloved pet's name. Ella was really something special, and apparently, so is your vet.

I firmly believe there are more good vets like yours and mine than there are a-hole vets.

Mine have gone above and beyond for me and for my dogs...and my boss isn't even a "pit bull" fan.

That's so sweet. I've gotten a codolence card, but the donation is a very thoughtful gesture.

That was really thoughtful of them...

I've gotten cards from my vet, which I thought was nice. The vet my mother takes her animals to wrote her a lovely letter after she lost her Rottie to cancer.

Our vet donated money in Daisy's name after we lost her, she died due to accident though, it was a lovely thing for them to do.

Thats very sweet! My clinic makes a donation to the University of Madison Vet. College for every deceased pet. We send them a personal card as well.
