We just got a new Sheltie Pup - she is now 10 weeks.
We plan of having her sprayed at 5 months.
Our other dog - 8 year Boston Male {fixed} is trying to mount her.
But get this - she is inticing him by standing in front of him
and making him smell her.

10 weeks is kinda young for this.
What do you think and how best to stop ???

Bostons are notorious for humping, it's just one of their "things" it seems. :p Tell them both "ah ah" and redirect them to something else.

At 10 weeks, there is no way she's going into heat. She's probably just figuring out how to get him to play, or she might have something going on, like the beginnings of a UTI or something. I'm assuming you've already taken her into the vet for her initial check up?

Collies and Shelties often offer their backend to other dogs when enticing them to play - she isn't doing anything out of the ordinary ...

Very Interesting...

I had a 15 yr old Sheltie which passed on last month and she never did this.
But then she was a very intraverted shelter dog who never barked and played.
Savvy is ever bit the "outgoing farm" type Sheltie that Sassy was not.

I knew about Boston humping - its the Bull Dog in them.

My 8 yr Boston M just can't keep up.
He is her Mentor and Savvy is his Torr-Mentor .
