There is lot's of advice in the food forum and information on Mordy's site which she has given you. Try looking through those. Every dog is different and there's no way we'd no which food is best for your dog. Althought Mordy would have the best idea.

Hi Tor

and Diamond was recalled, and personally speaking I wouldn't feed Premium Edge.

Some lady on the Fila forum just had her three dogs to the vet from premium edge...made by diamond...they almost died. It has been this week, so diamond is still having issues. I wouldn't take the chance.

I would suggest... solid gold, canidae first options, but Mordy can give you the best advice.

While we are on this subject....
I started feeding my dog Canidae....she seems fine with it.

I am caring for a Maltese and a Toy Poodle that are also on it but I swear, these dogs (or one of them anyway) poops so much I can't believe it.
I thought the purpose of these "better" foods was that they had less fillers so dogs would poop less. This (these) dogs are little poop machines! Anybody know why? I haven't noticed my dog pooping that much...

Their little intestines are probably detoxing and cleaning out, Pam. Just make sure they get good exercise and drink lots of water - that will help the process. I'm sure you're taking excellent care of them, and I hope the owners will continue where you leave off when they return :)

They say(forums and other email list etc) that not using but the so, so kibble makes a dog poo more. The better the food the less they poop. It i s supposed to be that the dogs are digesting more of the food, so less poop.

Sounds reasonable. Some one that knows more than me, will chime in some time.
I could be wrong too. I used Solid Gold and really liked it. And you want to drive your pup crazy try "tiny tots" by solid gold. They are made from whole lamb, I think.

With better food, you need to feed less in terms of the volume of food going in. (For example, instead of feeding two cups a day of low quality food, you may only need to feed one cup a day of the premium food.) Less volume in, generally the less volume out. Also, with better food, more gets digested and less passed out as waste.
