Hello! I'm Julia, currently owned by a 6 year old Papillion/Basset Hound/whatever mix and, most recently, a 1ish year old Pug/Chihuahua/whatever mix whom I found roaming around my apartment complex's swimming pool. (I'm also going to go ahead and apologize for the length - I can ramble sometimes!)
I currently live half in NC and half in SC, and the latter changes every couple of years. I found Jag, my Pap mix, at about 2 months old at my local Humane Society a few months after my first dog, a Pug named...duh duh duuuhhh! Pugsy (hey, I was 5). I wanted a big energetic dog (and we had the room for one), but my parents and brother wanted a small lazy dog. We compromised and, since he was going to be 60% mine and 40% family, got...ahem...this little brat. A hyperactive little...thing. Cute thing, but...thing.
While I was out walking around my apartment complex taking pictures and playing with my new camera 2 weeks ago, I happened to spot a little tan furry ball blur past. I glanced over and saw the most adorable Pug faced skeleton I've seen, tail tucked to the point you couldn't see it. After looking cautiously at me, he trotted off to hide in the bushes, every few strides stopping to glance back at me to see me eyeing him. Finally, he came out of the bushes, tried to dash to the fence to escape, but I crouched down, held my hand out, and gently called him. He was at one corner of the pool, and I was at the other. Neck stretched out, he sniffed me in the air and inched ever so cautiously towards me. Finally, after I scratched his head, he jumped in my lap and was all over me for a full 5 seconds. If I took my hands off for one second to fix my camera, he was in my face and whining and crying until I rubbed him some more. He followed me to my apartment, I gave him some kibble, took him to the vet, put up some posters, but unless someone claims him he's my little Chester!
