OMG........send him to me now! He is a living doll!

Seriously, if Orson would get along with another male (he does now, but it's something I can't be sure of until he is fully mature) I would take that boy right now!

When we took Holly to puppy class there was a deaf collie/aussie mix puppy who was sharp as a tack. They used hand signals and it knew sit and down.

They just basically, did the command sign, lured it into the position and treated. That puppy was so cute though and you'd never know it was deaf because it responded so well to the sign language command and it knew that if it came and sat by your feet you would give it a treat.

I could only wish for a home like yours. Whiskey is an ass and does not get along with any other dogs but this little man change that he loves him I wonder if he knows the baby is deaf ?

Maverick is a 5 month old red ACD who is hearing impaired. I have brought him home because our rescue is over run and he is being terrorized in there. I really have no clue how to train a deaf dog. I can not keep him here much more then a couple of weeks at most so I have to really get this guy out where he can get help and a good forever home. He was slated to be PTS . He is learning quite fast 1 hour and he follows a hand signal to sit. He had an accident on the carpet and I stopped him in mid stream and showed him the dog door now he bolts out side after 1 lesson. He is one of the friendliest guys I have yet to meet and loves everyone. He gets along great with Whiskey they are playing romping through the house now. Kahlua is fine with him too. No small animal aggression what so ever. He is fixed and up on shots too. If anyone here knows how to train a deaf boy I could use some advice. This is our little foster boy Maverick

Oh Joyce, God love you for helping him! He looks like such a sweet boy. I hope you can find him the perfect home. Poor baby......................
