Just wanted to give you guys a heads up...

There's an email circulating that looks a LOT like PayPal, claiming that your account access has been limited due to "third party" interference. It provides a link for you to validate your account information and restore full access to your account.

The link leads to a website that looks and acts IDENTICALLY to PayPal's actual website, but it's 100% forgery and simply tricks you into entering your email address and password (to "sign in" to your account) and then records that information to hijack your actual PayPal account.

Just wanted to let you guys know, as the forgery is very good and I'm sure many, many people fall for this. I received a legitimate "account activity limited" email from eBay a few weeks ago for suspicious activity on my account, so I know that this fake looks a heck of a lot like the real thing.

So if you get an email from PayPal, open a separate window and go to PayPal.com to sign into your account. If there are any problems with your account the first screen you see after signing in will tell you in detail.

Yeah, standard phishing stuff. If you get one of those, forward it to [email protected] and delete the email. You should also periodically check your account history for inaccuracies, but especially if you think you've been compromised.

Typical phishing ploy. I would NEVER EVER give out my log in info to someone. I also always forward these mails to the company they are phishing for, so they can try to find out who it is.

Generally [email protected] will work.
