Fila Speed

Fun to watch. Any of you with small, athletic APBTs will be able to have a good idea of how fast a proper Fila can be.

The store has a long, open corridor down the middle of two rooms that are each about 100' long.

Kharma gives Tallulah a head start of a good 20 or 30 feet . . . and catches her before she is three quarters of the way to the end of ONE room.

Phoebe is REALLY irked since Orson got coordinated enough to pass her up, LOL, she is a little rocket but no match for those long legs

I've got no idea on that one in a straight line. If turns and cuts were involved, I'd have to bet on the Fila. Not only do the paws and claws have extra traction, but they are so much more flexible than any other breed of dog, really more like a cat than a dog.

Does Kharma or Bimmer ever do the shoulder slam to another dog? Apollo does it to Ozzy sometimes and it just sends Ozzy end over end...

LOL! Bimmer has that one perfected, especially the aerial slam where he gets airborne and hits at speed. Kharma does it too, but her butt slam is infinitely more lethal. When she hits with her shoulder and then immediately twists and employs the butt slam whatever she hits goes sailing.

Heheh . . . might teach Pepper to stay home after Kharma put her mouth completely over Pepper's body like she does Tallulah's, especially since she roars when she does it.

Filas sound like Border Collies in terms of build and flexibility. It's one of the things I admire most about the BCs is their ability to turn so quickly and the complete control they have over their entire body. Amazing athletes!

Kharma needs to teach Zaphod how to be a huge dog and still be agile.

It's more than that, Grace. Very strange . . . their spines are flexible in the same way a cat's is. They just . . . flow. Yoga dogs Bimmer turns on a dime and can outmanuever any normal dog I've ever seen, but the Filas move differently. I think the gait helps too.

That's it . . . Zaphod needs to study yoga

PS.. the related video "fila fighting a puppy" involves neither a fila, or fighting, looks like a lab mix telling off an unruly puppy, with no harm to either dog.

That doesn't look flat out, but its still impressive. Their big bodies tend to hide it, but they have long legs! I think Buster is faster than that video shows, so how much more does a fila have left?

I've clocked Shiva at over 30 mph; she's a show-line Fila and compared to Kharma, a working line Fila, she is pokey.
