What type of leash clip is your favorite to use?

I am having a friend make me another paracord leash (I have one and Love it). I want to get the clip for it this time. I have seen and heard of the common bolt type snaps breaking. I have a leash with the scissors style clip, and almost everytime Draco shakes it comes undone and flies off. I am looking into the alligator locking type clips now. I don't have a huge dog, but I want a secure leash. He isn't a puller, but we do play tug with the leash alot (when clipped on) and whip it around with that. I know the alligator clips are long and heavy though. Thoughts on different clips?

I like the standard trigger snaps, because they're so light, but I just recently got some marine snap shackles to play with. I also like locking climbing cabinets, but those are too heavy for my dogs.

Eh, I like standard bolt snaps. I can say I've never had one break on me, but all hardware is bound to fail at some point.

You could look at bullsnaps, which are a little heavier:

Or a quick-release snap like they use on horse lead lines.

Or what about a regular spring snap? Lightweight but different from a bolt snap.

I have a bit of a preference for climbing-grade carabiners. Mostly related to the fact that I like hiking bluffs and similar areas when I get the chance and have recurrent daymares about what would happen if he slipped off an edge somehow (other semi-irrational worries include "what would happen if I left the stove on and the house burned down while he was crated" :( ).... it's made me very conscious about weight support limits for all of his equipment, way moreso than I should need to be for 95% of what we use it for.

My fave is the locking alligator clip. They can be small too :)

I honestly tend to prefer the standard bolt snap most of the time. It's simple, easy to hook on quickly without much thought, and not too bulky as it hangs off Morgan's collar.

I have two rope leads with a spring-loaded snap clip... I cannot remember what on Earth the piece of hardware is actually called. It closes more or less like a bolt snap, but without a thumb trigger. I like those pretty well, too.
