For those of you who have a "breed," are there any individuals that just stand out? Ones that you adore? Any that you would kill to have a puppy from? The ones that you think completely encompass all that your breed is about?

If you do, share!

Absolute favorite dog in my breed (well, apart from my own of course), GRCH Llantas. I would sell every expendable organ I have on Ebay for a good pup off this dog...

Off the top of my head, the top three or four dogs I would really like a puppy by are

Drago vom Patriot

Terror von der Staatsmacht

Sid vom Haus Pixner (although he is 12 years old now)

Stoli vom HausReid

These are the dogs that I like for sure, based on what I know about their temperament/drives/nerves and what I can see of their structure. There are so many more on my list, though, and I'm still trying to learn.

Ohh, a breeder close to me that I have been talking to recently used Drago as a stud for one of her females. I've fallen in love with him too, he's such a hunk.

He's been a really popular dog to go to as of late, and small wonder why. I've been asking around and talking to a few people who have seen him work in person and really like what they describe. One of my favorite breeders had a litter by him this past year, and I'm looking forward to seeing how these puppies turn out. Are you thinking of a GSD for your next dog? :D

Well, mine of course. :p

Other than her, I'm not a fan of most of the prominent examples of the breed. She is not a show line (she's working line), and I do not like the look of the show lines. At all.

Omg Grace, I loveeee Drago! Its so funny that you say you begin to question your GSD #2 plans when I post English Shepherd pictures, because I've been questioning my English Shepherd plans in favor of a GSD lately and you are NOT helping!! :p

My (Chow) breeder has one male who I'd really like a pup from. I'm hoping he's being bred when the time comes for looking for another Chow.

There's a Miniature Schnauzer breeder I've been stalking for years I would probably go with when the Schnauzers are gone.

Well, besides my own puppy.

I love, love, love McGruff.

His drive, his personality, his structure (he doesn't have the classic otter tail, though) is all perfect and I would love a lab like him. He's just one awesome dog, a great example of the breed.

I really want a puppy out of any of the www.windycanyonlabs.com dogs. In fact I might just shoot out an inquiry on her litter with Tango.

I know lots of people who have showline that have gone on to also be very successful with field work. Typically, with the right breeder you can achieve both. What working lines are behind your girl?

Small world. I know Anne personally, she's a good friend. I love her labs. Tango has always been a fave of mine.but Envy and Kiku are by far my.favorites and rotten Roxy!! If I ever got a lab, she is where it would come from.

There's a lot.

One of my absolute favorites is Chase, aka Starstruck Chase the Moon. I have admired him on photos online and for his accomplishments for a long time but got to meet him and his breeder/owner/handler at AKC agility nationals. He's a nice dog. Really typey (no chi or pom look) and also very much my preferred style of pap. He's on the larger side and structurally very gorgeous. Seems nice and happy, friendly, upbeat, and athletic (he ran the treadmill the entire time we talked and while everyone else did). He's a breed ring champion, I've lost count of how many MACHs, national agility champion, and US world agility team member for two years. I love seeing paps that can go in the breed ring and then turn around and kick butt on the performance field.

There are alot of Cardigans that I'm in love with, many for different reasons.

My all-time favorite girl is Mystic; hands down. Don't really like her head (no body's perfect) but she's just exactly what I picture in my head when I think of Cardigans. She's deceased now, but man does she look great.

Rory is pretty amazing, too!!

I like Libby (who is number 1 right now) because she's just so amazingly typey and has a truly lovely front. I like Chase, because I think he really fits the standard and has a ton of herding drive.

And I like the father of my litter, Striker, because he's typey and moves like no cardigan I've ever seen before.

As far as dogs who produce certain things very well, I like Fudge.

My next breeding (which will happen in about four years or so lol) I'm really going to focus on fronts rather then the whole dog which is what I did this time. It would be easier if we didn't have to worry about color and could breed brindle merles like collie people can, but I'm sure eventually there will be a black dog that comes along that I just can't say no to.

I'm going to have to come back to Pems, but most of my all time favs are long, long gone.

Beaucerons, the very first dog I ever fell head over heels for, that at one point I was almost adamant I would have one of his puppies (way back when I first started looking at the breed), Pin-Pon,

Tragically, he was never bred to a single bitch that today meets my standards, life moves on.

My new favorite, Ook Argente du Pic des Hobereaux, he made some darn nice puppies! At the age of 11 even.

And, Bailey Bleu du Chateau Rocher, again, he produces excellent puppies!
