To all those museli and other cereal makers, PLEASE refrain from putting dried DATES in your cereals in the future so that I don't innocently stumble upon them and gag uncontrollably!! :yikes:

I love all other kinds of dried fruit, just not dates.. It's the texture of them, they're sort of.. "Pappy" for want of a better word.. The skin is all chewy and the middle is just mush.. Blergh!

I like fresh figs, but not dried, they're kinda gritty when they're dried.

Louie, I'm the same way about textures. I can't eat a banana once it's past the not-quite-green stage. Too mushy. I loathe nearly all apples because of the texture. About the only ones that aren't weird are the Honeycrisps, Pink Ladies and Granny Smiths. Occasionally a fresh winesap from an old orchard will be good.

Love the Pink Ladies and Honeyscrisps. Granny Smiths are too sour for me. I usually just use my little gadget to slice/core one and stick it in a baggie to bring to work and nosh when I want. Less of a mess that way
