Wanted to correct my original post. It was in Powell River on the Sunshine Coast - not Campbell River. Here's what is on the radio station's website:

THE POWELL RIVER SPCA IS RAISING THE ALARM, AFTER A LOCAL DOG DIED WHEN THE GROOMER FELL ASLEEP WITH THE DOG IN A DRYER. AUDREY HILL SAYS IF THERE ARE PLENTY OF STAFF AT THE GROOMERS IT'S NOT AN ISSUE, BUT TIMERS SHOULD BE IN PLACE IF THERE IS JUST A SINGLE GROOMER. HILL SAYS ANY NUMBER OF THINGS COULD HAPPEN WITH A LONE GROOMER, AND THEY DON'T WANT TO SEE THE SAME THING HAPPEN AGAIN.

The groomer fell asleep??????????????????????????? WTF!!!
I know. How long was she asleep while this dog suffered this horrible fate. I don't know how I would have handled this news if it had been my beloved companion. Unforgivable.

I went through the parking lot at CIty Market on my breaks to write down the license numbers of cars that had dogs locked up in them. I know that a dog that is overheated is quite vocal. THen i took it to the office and they would announce it over the speakers. I think the worker wasn't asleep..i think the worker was not there.

IF this happened to my dog i think i would be sitting in jail cell.
