Oh! And Harry Nilsson is a definite must.
He was more poppy at times, but Nilsson Schmilsson was a rockin' album in places and Son of Schmilsson is hilarious in places.
I just love Harry Nilsson. You must get some Harry.

wait, what?

You despise Bowie? Are you kidding me? You DESPISE Bowie???

Why, I...I am in shock.

What music lover can despise Bowie??? Bowie is so diverse that there is a Bowie out there for everyone. You just haven't found your Bowie yet.

That is what I am going to believe for now.

You added Harry Nilsson? Is that who you added?

From Nilsson Schmilsson, I suggest:
Jump into the Fire (my FAVE from the album, gotta love that bass and drums!)
Early in the Morning
Let the Good Times Roll
One (and only because you should know that Harry Nilsson wrote that song, NOT Three Dog Night)
Lamaze (because I'm an oddball and LOVE this song. It's in French)

From Son of Schmilsson, I suggest:
Crap, just get both complete albums of Son of Schmilsson and Nilsson Schmilsson

Hey, Becca, did you know that Randy Newman wrote Mama Told Me (Don't Come) ?
It doesn't surprise me. Harry did an entire album of Newman covers. Both were great songwriters who had a similar sense of humor. And I love both musicians. :D

I can't believe you're doing a list of Classic Rock without including ZZ Top. *horror*

Peter Gabriel, Simple Minds, A-ha (or is it Ah-a?). Bryan Adams maybe? That's less old though...

And Genesis as Renee mentioned it (but I love Phil Collins too so :p )

Hey, don't feel bad. Nothing will make me turn off a radio quicker than a classic rock station . . . unless it's a country station

I like bits and pieces when I'm in the mood, but it's generally more the psychedelic/acid/hardcore stuff.

And I will confess, I LOATHE the Rolling Stones. Almost as much as I despise Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Oh, Breeze . . . you should add Black Oak Arkansas to your list :D
