On Friday my daughter had a swift and violent attack of gastroenteitis. She went down so fast, lost colour and strength before my eyes. It was very frightening. We got her to the main local clinic where she was on a drip for two hours.
To stop the vomiting they gave her Primperan but nothing to control the diarohea (sp) other than avoiding dairy, fatty foods etc.
She felt fine yesterday though my DH took her along to her own doctor just to let him look her over. She had by then started to develop a rash. The doc said the rash was related to the gastroenteritis, to stop all medicine and just continue to watch her diet carefully.
Well this morning she is one red rash from head to foot. I can practically see this thing spreading. It's not meningitis if the glass test can be trusted. There are no spots inside her mouth. The doc saw the rash yesterday but it was not like this.
Could either Primperan or gastroenteritis cause this kind of reaction?
Another thing. When they took her blood on Friday they used a very large piece of medical tape to attach the cotton wool. When I got that off there was an angry red rash just over her elbow, under the bandage. I don't know if that was the starting point or if that is unrelated.
For anyone with medical or kid experience does this sound like a normal reaction to you?
