Thanks, I will. I haven't seen her all day today so I'm going nuts not seeing her. I guess she will stay two weeks and then they'll see how she is then. I can't believe she's gonna be gone for that long. Although he said maybe she can come home sooner if she's doing better.

I don't know how you are standing it, Julie! I know she'll recover much more quickly with the attention you pay to her. Have you taken her something that has your smell on it to keep in her kennel?

Whisper to her and tell her we love her . . .

Well, I went to pick up Mack today at the vet's and I saw SHELBY! She was hobbling along all by herself outside. The vet said she's doing SURPRISINGLY well, he thought she'd take longer to get up and about. So she's going to come home on Friday!!!! YEAH! She was SO happy to see us, but she was sad to see Mack go home without her. I felt bad not taking her too, but I couldn't afford to board Mack there until she comes home. Yeah she gets a new blankie everyday that smells like me. I started sleeping with towels for a few days before she went in for surgery so she always has a fresh towel that smells like me. I will sleep with it for two days and then bring it in to her. I have a supply of towels that I have been sleeping with though becasuse I thought she'd be there longer. I can't wait! I'm getting her a new bed for her kennel and one for her to sleep on in our room as well. I don't know how well she'll be able to get up on the bed so I wanted to get her something soft to lay on. I'm SO excited, I was thinking about having a party for her, and inviting a few of the neighbor's and their dogs (she has quite a few friends in the neighborhood). I know a place in the mall where you can get special doggy treats that are dipped in yogurt and I think little doggy cakes too (not people cakes actually doggy cakes made for dogs). So maybe I'll get her a cake and then make little goodie bags for all the dogs with the treats in them.

I'm so excited to here Shelby will be coming home Friday!!!!!! Doggie hugs & kisses to her! I'm also glad Mack's surgery went well and he's back home. The doggie welcome home party sounds nice; just be careful Shelby doesn't overdo it. Keep us posted.

I was going to wait for a little bit before I had the party (atleast a week). I'll make sure I keep a close eye on her during the party and stop the party if she looks like she's distressed or tired.

One more day! Oh this is torture! I can pick her up tomorrow inbetween 1 and 3. I have her new bed all ready for her (one for our room and one for her crate). We also picked up a ramp for her to use to get in and out of the Suburban with. I think she will be alright getting into the house. I hope she'll beat it, the vet warned us that she could still be sick. ~sigh~ I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I'm gonna sit down and really read all the stuff that you found tonight. I got a bunch of stuff from the vet that I have been reading nonstop. I did look through the stuff that you found for me. Thank you for taking the time to find it. I have been SO busy with the stuff that the vet gave me (which was actually very informational)

Ok, yeah, I did read that. I just went back and double checked. Yeah I did read that one. I'll look for the essiac's tea for her. Sorry didn't mean to seem ungrateful for all the time that you spent looking up information for me and Shelby, it's just I had TONS  of stuff the vet had given me and I wanted to make sure that I understood everything before I got her home and was like "ok, now what do I do?" . I really do appreciate you finding all the information. Now, I just have to find the tea and we'll be all set. :)

You can get the tea at a health food store. I've been using it for CJ for her fatty tissue deposits and swelling which have now gone down since I started giving her some of the tea in her food.

Please let us know how Shelby is when she gets home. Doggie & Kitty hugs and kisses to her.

I didn't think you were being ungrateful, Julie. I know how crazy things are right now, having been through a cancer with Gulliver and CJ and FIV with my Gonzo. I knew you wouldn't want to miss anything that might help Shelby. :)

Renee, I didn't realize it helps with joint stiffness; thanks for all your help.

Julie, can't wait for an update. I know you're busy, but I've been thinking of you all day.

SHE'S FINALLY HOME!~sigh of relief~ I was there at exactly 1 o'clock to pick her up today! She was SO HAPPY to get home! I've been keeping the other dogs away from her, but I did give them both a chance to say hi. I was surprised Shelby was happy to see Hannah. I'm SO happy. It's sort of wierd, I know I'll have some adjusting to do. I got more paperwork from the vet to read, and we're going to go and pick up some of the tea tomorrow.
