Well not quite a friend, perhaps, but an aquaintance! He belongs to a family friend and joined us on our trip to the lake the other day. He wasn't sold on Boo, who after an initial "what are you doing here" growl, decided he was an interactive play thing. However, he was easygoing enough that the two coexisted quite nicely. Plus, you can't beat the cute! He's only about 6 pounds and possibly the cutest thing I've ever seen!
An update, since I haven't posted much lately - Boo is doing well! As usual, she is much like living with a slightly phobic chia pet Her nails were atrocious and she needed a good grooming when I got home, but she is now cleaned up and I've been slowly filing the nails down bit by bit (Boo participates begrudgingly). She has become quite finicky about going on walks, which started last year after she went missing. She still gets quite excited at the mention of a walk and happily struts out of the house, but it doesn't take long until she plants her feet and refuses to move any farther. She can be cajoled along for a bit, but clearly isn't enjoying the walk once she sets her mind that it is time to go home. As soon as you turn around, she's a happy camper. She's worse on roadsides than on wooded trails, but she surprised me on our local trail the other day by doing her "plant and brace" move for the first time on a non-asphalt trail. I convinced her to walk another quarter mile or so, but she didn't approve. I think that she heard the traffic of the road beside the trail up ahead and wanted none of it.
Otherwise, she's perfect, but quirky as usual. She has taken to doing a little howl along with the telephone on occassion (this was a new one for me - she must have just started this behavior) and woo-wooing when I arrive home after an extended time away (the most adorable sound in the world)! She's still petrified of fireworks and gunshots and a distant, barely-there "pop" will send her briskly trotting towards our front door, but you can run the vacuum almost on top of her before she decides it is time to move. She still sleeps much of her days away and enjoys hanging at the lake. I love her just to bits! Anyhow - on to the photos!
That's all
