Bailey is sick

Yesterday Bailey had quite bad Diarrhea (Twice), so he hasn't eaten since yesterday lunchtime (b/c he wasn't bad until after lunch).
When i took him out this morning his Stools were firm again.

But.........he has just been sick
It is only like Bile (Acidy) with no food in there.

You think he was sick just b/c there is no food in his Stomach?

I'd maybe try giving him a little something bland just to see if that helps. poor guy, I sure hope he feels better today!

When he got ill before (severe tummy bug) the Vet said to give him at least 24 hours on an empty stomach in future......b/c otherwise i am just feeding the germ and not giving him chance to recover??

usually the dog will do that on his own, so if he refused food it would be cause he's not feeling well enough yet. (I know mine don't eat when they don't feel well) I was just thinking of something small...a few bites of hamburger/rice at most. otherwise, sure I'd listen to the vet. I must admit that I'd never heard of 'feeding the germ'. I always make the mistake of thinking of the dog like a person....and I'd be trying to offer a little somthing like dry toast. sometimes I have to smack myself and say...'they're dogs, Deb!!!!!!' LOL

Try him with chicken and rice. I have also never heard of "feeding the germ". He is likely to be feeling horrible because he is hungry.

make sure he drinks lot of water and give him brown rice and chicken for his tea !!! bear my female has just had that and that what the vet told me to do

I know to feed Rice/Chicken........but it's the "How long do i starve him for" that i was wondering.
I have just given him a small bowl of Rice

The few times my guys have been sick they've never gotten anything special or different They usually just laze around and they eat when they're ready to eat again.

I hope Bailey feels better soon

I did not see this in the post is he holding water down ?? that would be my only concern at first. He will eat when he is ready. If not after a reasonable span of time then time for vet. All my dogs have gone through this from time to time and I offer them chicken or beef broth as I would use on myself when coming out of a throwing up episode they usually go for that . I am sorry to hear Bailey is down. Take care of that big sweet hunk of love. Give him hugs from Aussie and her crew. Let us know how he is please.

Aussie.......yes he is holding down water.....he would eat no matter how sick he is.....i don't allow him to eat b/c i wouldn't want him getting worse.
He is alot better this afternoon.
He stools are solid and he was only sick the once this morning.
I think that maybe he was sick b/c he had nothing left in his stomach.

No more puke or diarhhea, hubby just walked him and said that it is a little mushy, but not runny.
I have only had him out of the Crate for so long at a time today so that his best buddy Maddison doesn't jump all over him.
So he has slept most of the day.
He seems much better
