I saw a friend on FB mention this and want to see if anyone else use it too and if it actually works. If it does i'd like to get one for Casey he really freaks out when there is thunderstorms and of course fire works too. You should have seen how high he jumped when my cousins were fooling around with some fireworks last year during labor day weekend. Casey ended up jumping on top of my SUV!, so i had to put him in the bathroom in my folks basement hoping that would help him some but he shakes like a leaf. Here is the link that i was looking at http://www.thundershirt.com/lpf/

I didn't have any luck with them with Meg, but I've both seen and heard them work wonders on a few different dogs. I wouldn't hesitate to try one on another dog if I had need.

Didn't work for us. The first night we had it, she had worn it earlier and is fine with "clothing", but someone started setting something off just down the road at dinner time, sounded like fireworks more than a gun, and this is what unfolded after -

One of the problems I'm thinking is wrong with it though, they don't make a size that fits her. The Medium is out and out to small, this one of hers however is HUGE on the chest strap, and according to what people say on the facebook page, that is more important it fits than the area around the ribs. I don't know how true that is, but I know that a proper overall fit is key for it to work. They are selling these now at Petsmart, I would suggest anyone interested in one find a place selling them first and see if you can fit one to your dog before committing to buying.

On another note, we had slightly more success during hunting season with the pheromone collar by Sargent's.

We have one for Crash and we only use it on the really bad nights. He just gets anxious sometimes and it works really well for him. At first he was like "ohemgee, something's trying to eat me" and clung to us, but then he got used to it. Now he still spins a little bit with it on, but it's more of an out of habit spin instead of a mind is blown spin.

Didn't work for Steve at all, but worked great for a friend's dog. They have a money-back guarantee, so it's worth a try.

It was suggested to me for Bailey with generalized anxiety... it didn't work for us. But I gave it to my friend who has a Scottie who is terrified of storms, and it worked for him! ;)

I have an Anxiety Wrap, which is basically the same thing - tight fitting piece of clothing.

Love it. I'm actually really bummed out right now because I can't find it anywhere in the house so I think it accidentally got thrown away.... and while I don't want to spend the money on another one, I feel like it's something I NEED to have on hand. And I'd probably get a Thunder Shirt this time around just because they're so easily accessible now.

Juno doesn't have like, any big phobias. Just some mild generalized anxiety. But she's really subdued when the Wrap is on.

I love Gambit's for his general neurosis. However, it did nothing for Argon's thunder fear. What did work for Argon was popping him a melatonin as soon as he showed stress signs, which is way before you can tell that a storm is coming.

I have one for Sunny. I have used it for her at agility trials since she has become anxious with all the people. It seemed to make a big difference in how calm she was. She was able to focus on me, and actually think instead of just panicking. I haven't used it for anything other than trials though.
