I am having a dog party with my small dog group on Sunday. So last week on 9 March, I ended up ordering a little cute spa bag to give the birthday dogs. I had really liked this company when I had ordered stuff before.

Anyway, I made sure to order things that were ready to ship NOW. Because according to that site, that meant they were in stock and would ship the next day.

So today, I get the things I ordered to find out that they shipped 2 of the 10 items I ordered. With no explanation.

I call up customer service to find out what is happening. First off, the guy who answers the phone is obviously multi-tasking. He has me on speaker and is talking to somebody else.

Then he acts like I am stupid when he talks about an invoice. And is asking whether this shipped directly from them or was drop shipped. I tell him what the paper that was in the box says and he still acts like I am stupid and he doesn't understand what I am saying. I mean it said from them. How the heck do I know if that means it is from them or drop shipped. It is not my invoice, it is theirs. Then guess what, he actually looks up my order on the computer. Says that it looks like it was sent directly from them. And that they would have the other 8 items coming in on Friday. That they would send them out Friday and I would get them Monday.

So I ask, is there anyway you could overnight them, so that I could get them Saturday. Because they are for a party on Sunday. Of course he couldn't do that. It would cost too much. Well, by now, his whole attitude is getting to me. So I start to get into it with him. How I wasn't happy. How I had specifically ordered items that said they were ready to ship NOW so that they would be in stock and ship right away. Etc.

He then is like well, I can only tell you the situation. What do you want me to do about it. Um, if they come in Friday, then ship them overnight. He continues to talk. And then says again, I am not clear, what do you want me to do? OMG!! Was he just hoping I would go away?

seriously. if they come in, ship them overnight. See if you have something else that is similar that you could ship right away. Something. Something that indicates that you realize that you screwed up by saying they were in stock and never telling me they weren't.

We could split the shipping cost overnight, we could have talked about my driving down there to pick them up . . . something. something off on my next order. And then when I said, well if I don't get the other 8 by Sunday, I don't need the 2 I have . . . he had the nerve to tell me that there would be a re-stocking fee. That I should have read that on the website. I said "yes, I did. Just like I read that things designated "NOW" were in stock and ready to ship. You can't refer to something on your website as rules and ignore other things."

Anyway, we left it that he was going to call me back and see if they could ship overnight. Do I believe him? No. Not only don't I think he will call me back. I doubt he even talks to anybody about it.

I started off on the conversation just wondering if I was going to get the items and when. I was going to be ok, not happy, but ok that I wasn't going to have what I ordered by the party. I figured I would just have to buy some things this weekend at a local store. But man, the longer this guy talked, and the more I had to listen to an attitude that took no responsibility for their website being incorrect AND them never bothering to contact me via email or phone to let me know that order would be incomplete. That really really got to me. This is the same company that will call me if I left items in my shopping cart in order to persuade me to go ahead and place the order. But apparently can't bother to tell me they don't have everything in stock like their website said! :madgo:

I agree with VanillaSugar that I would have demanded to talk to someone hight and that you feel the person you are talking to is being rude and you want some help. It was there fault after all not yours.

I truly suspect that the person I was talking to was actually somebody like the owner. Because this is not a large store. And I know that the customer service line is to the same store. I thought about asking for somebody higher up, but when he started into his line about not being authorized and he would have to ask the shipping department . . . I thought "really, who has to ask the shipping department for authorization. that makes no sense."

In reality, they aren't that far away, he could drive his tushie up here with my order in about an hour. :D Or I would have been able to drive down on Saturday to pick it up if I had to.

Oh, and I still am waiting for him to call me right back.
