We were standing around in theatre this morning talking about our pets, and I was saying how I have cats and dogs and just adore them all, especially the cats blah blah.

One of the nurses turned around and said, `If a cat comes into my yard more than twice, I trap it, take it to the Cat Haven, sign the consent saying it's mine, and then have it put down. Costs me ten bucks'.

I was horrified and disgusted, I don't know if she's telling the truth or just saying it to upset me because we don't get along, but I want to know if you think I should contact the Cat Haven and the RSPCA with her name and tell them what she said, in case she actually does do it?

I am so angry and disgusted, I gave her a piece of my mind earlier but I just want to make sure that she can never do this again, if she really does do it in the first place.

Even if she doesn't do it, it isn't worth taking the risk!!

Besides, even if she was doing it to upset you, give her a taste of her own medicine and report her.

What a snotty cow!

i work for the rspca and you cant just walk in with a healthy pet and say put them down they wont do it rspca are about animal rights and that is not part of animal rights unless she says its feral and attacking people, other cats, or other animals cause then it runs the risks of FIV or other diseases that can be transmitted to other animals and without any physical signs of diseases they will not put down an animal for a small fee without carrying out some tests
however i have never heard of cat haven it must just be in your area i will research them and see if they do and i will get back to you if they do do that than definetly call them as that cat she is having destroyed is probably some little boys or girls pet and they probably get very upset about their cat disappearing and that woman should be so ashamed of herself that is just disgusting behavour

Next time you see her tell her that as a nurse, she should be ashamed to deliberately hurt people, are nurses not about helping them? Honestly... don't let that go.

What an evil person. Someone should put her in a crate and make her disappear. God only knows what she does to her patients. Just the thought is terrible.

I highly doubt a place called "Cat Haven" euthanizes random, healthy cats. Especially if they are repeatedly being brought in by the same woman. Wouldn't they wonder seeing the trap everytime?

SICK and WRONG! Even if she was "joking" or "pulling your chain," that's not the type of thing to joke about, totally inappropriate.

The Cat Haven is Perth's cat welfare society - they are not a no-kill shelter unfortunately, but their percentage of rehoming is very high. They, I believe, will try to rehome cats firstly rather than put them down, but if they are doing it at the owner's request, they will do it. And she said she was signing consents to say they were hers.

However, it's the next day now and I've calmed down, and I don't see how she could've done it more than once or twice and got away with it, if she was being serious.

Oh well, I reported her to them and RSPCA anyway - anyone who even jokes about stuff like that is revolting and deserves to be on a list somewhere anyway.

Her other comment was about bitch spays - I said that my sister-in-law, who is a vet, told me that they are the most complex routine operation a vet does, and that bitches can take up to two weeks to recover fully.

She turned around and said, `Rubbish, we used to do them out the back on the kitchen stairs and they were all fine'. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. I don't know what she meant by that but she's obviously just a sick weirdo who enjoys upsetting people...

How can this evil person be a nurse. Apparently she has no compassion for any living thing. Euthanize her. The earth would be a better place for it. omg

Hi Stacey - This is very disturbing news. We do euthanase cats at owners
requests for $25-$30. Please tell us this womans name and address so we can
keep an eye out for any coming from her address.
Thanks Linda.

if you dont want to contact them yourself i will give them her details in an email

ive heard of people desexing male dogs by tyeing a rubber band around his testicles and waiting for them to drop off but i dont think many people do it and as for sezexing a female in the backyard if it didnt die during the desexing you would think it would of infection later on i think she just sounds like a cruel heartless bitter woman

i just realised you already reported her i would also think after a couple of times they would catch on because vets have to document where all the medicine and drugs go so they would have documentation somewhere of it
