I'm going to miss my paper books so much :( but the price of shipping a heavy box all the way to London is just too much. I'm taking my favorites but the rest will stay and from now on, since I'm CONSTANTLY moving.. I may have to stick with only kindle books :(

Any other kindle users have some advice?

I am thinking of getting this one: http://www.amazon.com/Kindle-Paperwhite-Ereader/dp/B00AWH595M/ref=sr_tr_sr_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1387075323&sr=8-1&keywords=kindle
I don't want anything too fancy (I have an Ipad I SHOULD be using to read but with angry birds and the internet... that just never happens..) and reading on a bright light can be a chore, not to mention the battery life and reading outside.

I don't have a Kindle, but I have a basic, older edition Nook that I adore

I have the original kindle reader and love it. My house is very small and I don't have room to keep a bunch of books and it's easier to read while laying down lol

I've never looked back. I love it

I have I think the original first gen Kindle or whatever and totally love it. Which I didn't think I would. But let me tell you it is SO convenient especially late at night when I all of a sudden get the itch to start a new book. Just pop on Amazon and have it send it over! So easy to throw in my purse and be able to read on my lunch break or if I'm waiting for someone etc. So easy to read in bed. And this summer when I re-read Harry Potter? Yeah totally didn't miss trying to get comfortable while holding Order of the Phoenix. LOL.

It's really one of my favorite purchases. I can just straight up read on mine, there's nothing fancy to it which is what I prefer.

I have the original Kindle, too, and I love it. I originally got it for traveling, at the time I was flying a lot and it's just so much more convenient to carry and to instantly be gratified with book purchases. It doesn't have to replace paper books, and at first I thought I would be a bit sad over reading on it instead of a paper book, but I really haven't felt that way. I also have a few little word games on there that are nice time killers while waiting for an oil change or whatever. I pretty much always throw it in my bag/purse wherever I'm going.

If it had been available when I got mine, I would have gotten the paper white. The one thing it would be nice to do is be able to read in the dark (I like to take it camping). My parents have it and I don't think it is hard on the eyes or anything.

ETA: Also, there are gazillions of free books available for it through various sources.

I have a paperwhite and an older kindle I love the. Both, but prefer the paperwhite because I don't need to drag a book light along, since I often read in low light.

And for the record you should not use your iPad to read, trust me your eyes will be much happier reading the kindle. I know mine are.

I have an older kindle, and I adore it. It's so nice for travel; I don't have to carry a bunch of books with me, and I can switch from one to another without worrying about losing my place.

There's a lot of really reasonably priced books, too. It's encouraged me to read older books, since they're cheaper/free a lot of the time.

I have.four kindles lol. One in the bedroom, one in the car, in my work.office, and the fourth I just.carry with me. Love it. I used to read.a.lot when I was younger. Since getting a job and.being so.busy in life I have to read when I can. And carrying around a book is impractical with my lifestyle.

With whispersync it always keeps the page I am on up to.date on all four. It is really nice. I've read more books in the last 2 years than the 8 years before it. Still not as many as when I was in school but meh.

Also, Kindle Paperwhite is so worth the extra cost. The way it's lighted just doesn't compae.to.the older.versions. it is soooo much better. And the one.with ads is fine too. I hardly notice them at all.

add me to the 'older kindle' club. I don't use it a whole lot because I seem to not read as much as I once did, but it is so handy for vacation. Load several books up on it, doesn't take up as much room in the car. If I start switching between the kindle and a real book, I get upset at my real book because it wouldn't let me do....something. I just don't remember what it was right now, haha

Okay I posted here but my safari app crashed. x_x

I had an original kindle and LOVED it. Seriously. I am a book person. I love reading, and I love re-reading. I like the feel of the physical book in my hands. I like flipping pages. I love bookmarks. But the ease, portability, and the fact that I could download any book any time was too tempting to pass up. I tried it and instantly loved it. Mine stopped working, I can't remember why. I think it got stepped on. So I just read on my iPhone with the kindle app which is fine. I do want another kindle though (the original or maybe the paper white). I don't need apps or a camera or any of that on a reading device. I have an iPhone and my parents have an iPad and iPad mini if I really want to use a tablet. I just want to read on it. Plus I liked the fact that the pages weren't lit up. It didn't hurt my eyes. It did make it hard to read at night though when I do most of my reading. I had to keep a lamp on and my sister hated it lol. But I think the paper white one is slightly backlit maybe?

I admit I am kindle stupid:) I did however, order the Kindle HD from QVC a couple weeks ago it was the 32 gb one a today special value for 269..was coming from amazon, however, it included LIFETIME support, the 32 g had the capabilities to hook up to wifi via your telephone co? so it would work the net, anywhere,

Anyhow, I got it, and then figured out I didn't have wifi, so I sent it back. I probably should have kept it, because there were all kinds of "perks" with the kindle via QVC which amazon doesn't offer with it.

So what I'm saying is, check it out on QVC.com not sure what the price is now, or if all the perks are still included, but maybe it is, and it might be a better value thru them vs amazon..(oh and it was FREE shipping)

My paperwhite has built in 3G that you dont need a SIM card or anything for, it allows you to download books almost anywhere, middle of the Caribbean on a ship, not so much though lmao.

I have a Kindle Fire and I love it!

I love real books and I would never give them up completely, by any means, but the Kindle is just so handy. Definitely very worth it!

The kindle fire has wifi and various apps, and I do use that quite a bit, but I don't have a phone or any other device so it can kind of fill that niche.

I have the Kindle Fire and I absolutely love it. I really resisted buying one because I love to hold a book. I bought a nice leather cover with mine and it feels just like a book and shuts it down when I close it. There are so many free books too. If my kindle broke today, I would be ordering another one in a heartbeat.
