Voted no!

All I can say is that, well, if anyone tries to take my dog - whether they come for just the Pittie or all of them . . . count on the revolution starting early.
I agree. Anyone who threatens my furry kid will face the consequences.

That just isn't true. People should read the facts and decide for themselves, EITHER way. No one can predict the future.
WOW!!!! You really believe that? The Ontario ban was a bunch of propaganda and media bullS!^%# I have never as of yet met a Pittie I did not like.. There is another breed (I WILL NOT name) that many I have met were not very nice at all.... they are not banned nor should they be just because the ones *I* have met were not the best examples.... All it would take is a few well published *attacks* by << Insert Breed >> and BAM... another breed banned!!! Makes me sick.....

Sorry... Going off a bit....

I voted No, Just to give you guys an update, we had two days in court appealing the Ontario Pit Bull Ban, but it looks like we may have to go all the way to the Supreme court.

To the poster who is in support of the ban, out of principle I respect your desicion but I would strongly urge you to look up the facts of the ban ( the fact that we were less then 4 months from an election couldnt possibly have come into play) and that in other places, if you truley think BSL affects only pit bulls and dobermans and GSD's and akitas know that in some places over 85 breeds have been banned. In ontario we had MP's pushing for a ban on other breeds like akitas, GSD's etc after the pitbull ban this is just the way these types of things start.

Furthermore look up the heros of the breed, the real issue of public safety and why BSL does nothing to protect the general public. If you are still in support of the breed ban after that then Id ask you to go personally meet pitbull, unless you have idiotic owners who cant socialize a breed that loves humans it is very hard to find a pittie who will not win your heart.

Ironically, pits/bullies are the only type of dog that has never snarked at or tried to bite Strider. He has had some really great pittie running friends. He gets all excited and wiggly when he sees one. :)

:hail: Great reply!

That's really the gist of the whole matter:

a.) What's the real motivation? (Votes? Attention for politicians?)

B.) BSL will ... and has ... been expanded to other breeds!

People who don't like a particular breed should never think their own chosen breeds won't end up included too! The facts show that the trend in some areas has been to eliminate ALL large breeds ... like that one mid-western town that bans ANY dog over 100 pounds in weight, regardless of breed.
