Getting ridding of a pet because they are a burden and not wanting to deal with taking them to the vet when some health things creep up, especially for an older dog ( or cat).

Why do people throw pets away and then say they miss them? i really never understand that. Someone who would throw dogs ( or cats) away like they are trash is being a hypocrite when they say they "miss" them. Had to get that off of my chest.

The shelties could care less about the pool, they can't be bothered being wet LoL, they even prance around puddles on the ground. Josie uses the kiddie pool religiously though! here's a pic from last year, this thread reminds me i need to drag it out soon!

I like the sand box idea. Are they stimulated enough? sometimes it's a bored dog. I corrected Josie early on when she wanted to dig and showed her where she's allowed to dig. Sometimes dog dig to get to a cooler spot if it's warm out which is why they also lay in the mud during the summer :yikes:

Just because you have a German Shepherd does not mean you HAVE to do shutzhund. You need to do something that you BOTH will enjoy. Seems like agility is more your style i'd stick with that ;) maybe some herding too, there are other lists of things she can do, shutzhund isn't the only thing out...
