The shelties could care less about the pool, they can't be bothered being wet LoL, they even prance around puddles on the ground. Josie uses the kiddie pool religiously though! here's a pic from last year, this thread reminds me i need to drag it out soon!

Jack gets to swim in an indoor heated pool for swim therapy every week. Honestly I don't think he's much of a fan of warmer water though. At home we had a kiddie pool (it cracked last summer) and Jack was in it all the time. Sally just thinks it's a giant water bowl and looks very annoyed that Jack is splashing around in her drinking water. I do think I'm going to get a hog trough this year though.

Oooo a hog trough is a good idea. Mosquitoes are so bad here, though, that I can't leave water standing in anything for more than a day or two without dumping it out - are they small enough to do that easily , people who use them?

We have used a metal one as a second trough for horses and it wasn't too hard to dump. I would thing the hard rubber ones would be even easier.

Yeah, easier than a plastic pool because they don't buckle if you have a lot of water in them. They're about 18 inches deep and fairly easy to tip over on a side. I have a plastic one and a hard rubber one for the dogs (see tiger shark pics a couple of pages back).

Some of the livestock troughs have drain valves on the bottom to empty them out without tipping, for those who have trouble lifting.

They come in various shapes and sizes

I had a plastic kids one that turned into a huge water bowl! No one would go in it.
