Innova - Has it changed? No longer carried by local pet store, need alternative!

My mini dox has been on Innova (evo) pretty much his whole life. We tried a couple other's here and there, but always went back to Innova. He ate it, kept his weight excellent, no ill effects on his part (gas, poop, etc). Recently, the pet store I had been buying it from stopped carrying it...

Dachshund spinal cord injury... Limp legs, HELP!

Well, another trip to the vet today... Stogie is still completely (or 99%) limp on the rear end and rear legs. The vet said to keep him on the med's for at least another week - 1 Dexo-somthing (steroid/cortisone) a day, and 3x daily on Methocarb (muscle relaxer) and Tramadol (pain killer)...

Frontline Plus, how long does it last on tiny dogs?

So I've got a 9lb mini dachshund, and he's almost 3 years old. This is my first time ever having to use Frontline. So I got a box (3 viles) of Frontline plus - It says one bottle every 30 days.... But I seem to remember reading each bottle should last 90 days? How long should frontline...

Opinions of TASTE OF THE WILD dog food??

So far Stogie has done well on it, he's just a finicky little bas***d! :) He eats this, and it has a distinctive crunch, very different from the EVO has had been eating for years prior. No notice of gas, loose stool, or stomach issues. Maintaining weight? well he's 9.1lbs right now (I just...

Opinions of TASTE OF THE WILD dog food??

I'm switching Stogie from Innova EVO (small bites) to Taste of the Wild, as a test. He's been eating the EVO for some time - but he eats it out of pure starvation! He doesn't look forward to eating it - ever... And that's why I'm on the quest for a new kibble. :( Reading the ingredients of...

Pet Food Recall By Major Manufacture

While watching CNN today, I caught the tail end of a story about recalled pet food from a major manufacture. They explained dog and cat food was being recalled because it was tainted with something that could potentially KILL your pet who might eat the tainted food. A quick search brought...

    Loco Mini-Dachshund

She's adorable! I'd love to get Stogie a "wife" that was about a year old or so... then let them have puppies. :D I wish I could give you better advice on Symphony... I never had to deal with those problems, so I don't have any remedies. The only real issue we had (have) with Stogie is...

    Loco Mini-Dachshund

Wow... I have a mini dox and he is the most gentle dog ever... and at 11 weeks he didn't make a sound.. he didn't start barking until he was 7 months old or so... so I'm shocked to hear about her behavior. The only thing Stogie does that I don't like is when he's resting on someone, and...

Really Impressed with Clicker Training Success *short vid*

Kayla, Amazing. I think whatever you did to get to that point, you're doing right! I wish I could get Stogie to that point. We've got SIT - but thats about it! Everything else he does, he does when he wants to, not because I say it. Sometimes the two event coincide (I say it, he does it)...

How many "dress up" dry food for their dogs? (& with what??)

Since making the switch to Innova (back whenever it was), I've not fed anything but Innova. My wife and I get in these debates over his food, but we both agree - so long as he enjoys it, its not an issue to us. I may have to try another canned..? I'm not sure yet. Here's the issue I seem to...
