I only ask because I just found out mine :D

I'm B+! There's only 8% of us apparently!

O-

I am very popular with blood banks, but have recurring low iron issues so I cannot donate as much as I'd like.

Boyfriend is A+, his brother is B+ (IIRC). Both are rarer in caucasian folks, from what I gather.

Also mosquitos love O type blood. Explains why I get eaten alive and Marshall is untouched. :(

I...have no idea. I should probably find out at some point. Is that just something you can ask to have done if you're having blood drawn for anything? Although come to think of it, I was probably typed before, as I've had surgery. I just don't know what I am.

Michael is AB+. He wanted to donate, but found out he couldn't due to all of the vaccines he was getting for his deployment. Kind of bummed him out.

Most people only find out if they need to know I think. Pregnancy is a need to know as if your negative it can affect baby and you need to get a shot in case your blood ever mixes.

I found out because I was at a local outdoor event years back and Canadian Blood Services had a booth where they could determine your blood type with a pinprick. Then they'd give you some documentation about donating as an informational gesture.

I believe you can request it of your doctor or by contacting your local blood services place.

A lot of things can inhibit the ability to give, which kind of sucks. I've donated several times but my iron levels are a bit of a gamble each time.

I have known since I was a kid because when I was born the cord snapped and I lost a lot of blood. They wanted to give me a transfusion but it was during the AIDs epidemic so they didn't and I ended up on supplements and soymilk for forever.

I also typed myself a couple years back in microbiology and it came back the same.

I'm not entirely sure!

When my twin brother and I were babies we were told that I was A+ and he was O+. We both had blood transfusions.

Then on college I gave blood and when I received my Red Cross card in the mail, it had me listed as O pos.

So...somebody was wrong somewhere!

I donated blood once in high school, and got a card with my blood type on it. I have no idea where it went, and I can't remember my type. I think it was A something.

I donate plasma twice a week and you'd think that my blood type might have been mentioned/come up on all my paperwork, but it never has. haha.

I honestly have no idea. But I guess I should really find out. lol. I've been wanting to donate blood anyway, so maybe I'll find a place and then find out.
