It's MY dog. I make the decisions. I train him. I excersice him. I researched for the breeder. I contacted the breeder. I delt with the breeder. I found the trainer. I pay for the food. I pay for the toys. I pay for the leads/collars. I pay for the crates. He's even freakin' registered is MY name.

The DOG IS MINE.

Thats all.

This is a battle that most likely won't end until you and the dog move out. And it sucks.

What happened?

It's an accumulation of things. And yeah, I know it wont end till I move out, which is the sad part.

To touch on a few things, they about 3 months before I got Blaze, said I could feed raw.

Hmm. A week of them thinking about it, they say no raw.

They told me I could leave Blaze intact. I specifically remember telling my dad (and told my mom way before that) this. Go to the vet and they reccommend fixing him. Well, from what I thinking "No I'm not" but they my dad comes home and says "THIS DOG IS GETTING FIXING". WTFH?

Now, today. We changed foods (cheaper quality Sams food. Only for Major, but Lizzie's been eating it because she doesn't like being on a feeding schedule) So Lizzie's thrown up everytime she eats it. Okay, they said we can go back to Canidae. Then they go even further to change where the food is at! It's in a place so that only the adult dogs are allowed in there since Blaze is eating puppy food and WILL be kept on a feeding schedule (They complain about ME (yes ME!!) having to feed him on a scedule. ME feeding him. ME remembering). Now they want to bring it into the kitchen so that Blaze has accese to it. Again with the WTFH?! They want me to somehow train him to not get that food in the kitchen where he has full access. How the freakin' heck am I suppost to do that????

It's like they WANT me to be mad/stressed all the time. On top of all this, I've got 3 days of important tests in school next week, I need to FINISH my school by Monday, I'm trying to raise a puppy, I'm sleep deprived, I've been at the ball field almost everynight this week from 5-9, and I've got to babysit Friday-Saturday for 4 kids. My aunts coming this weekend, and I've got a class to teach Sunday. *sigh*

They barely do anything for the dog, except by ASKING to take him out and play with him. I think they've watched him a total of 5 times (to get a quick shower, eat supper) since I got him.

Sounds to me like maybe they are wishing they hadn't agreed to Blaze at all :(

((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))))))
You'd think. :( My dad loves him though, he brags about his fetching skills to everyone (Yeah ). So I don't understand.

I think it might have something to do with the fact I'm not raising the pup how he would want. I dunno.

It will be interesting to see how fast my brother's puppy (coming home next saturday) gets trained (house trained, commands, etc.) with my dad/brother basically raising him.

That's what it sounds like to me. You're not doing what they want, so they're making it extremely difficult for you to do things how you want. :(

I've been in the same situation, and it's no fun. If you ever need to vent, I'd be glad to listen.

Sounds like you are having a rough time. Hope it gets better! maybe they will see after they bring home your brother's dog that it isn't so easy and maybe the way you do things isn't that bad at all.

I had this issue too. My boys, even though my mom has brought them home, weren't aloud inside after the first piddle accident. It was winter. They had no dog house. They slept on the porch. THEN SHE COMPLAINED ABOUT THEM DIGGING UP THE YARD.

WTF.

(((hugs))) You're definitely not the only one. My Dad has been on my case about Dance since I got her too, very much in the same way your family is (except the feeding schedule). He has gotten better now that we've had her almost a year and can see what a great dog she's grown into, but he still gets on me about stupid things from time to time. I hope things get better for you! Sounds to me like you're doing a great job with Blaze. Hopefully your family will see that in time. :)

Ahh lizmo, that sucks.
Its also exactly the reason I won't get anotehr dog till I move out, not worth the hassle here

"don't use a clicker he'll hate it"
"just let them eat already, they don't need to sit"
"your just going to make him hate dogs and make him more neurotic by teaching him to look at you"

oh, and last night my mum and I were practicing down stays with Buster and Harry, calling them to us one at a time. She said to call Buster first because Harry's stay is more solid, I've been working on Buster's stays really hard the last coupel of weeks.
Everytime I called Buster first Harry would come aswell, I suggested we tried calling Hary first and Buster just stayed right where he was, waiting. Even when Harry got to mum and she started jumping around with him. When I did call him he was brilliant. Startight to me*proud moment*
except he's still elarning to stop now that he's realised stays are so much fun, he's not really slowly down when he gets near me lol

Don't worry, blaze has someone great looking out for him. He'll turn into a wonderful dog

I'm hop on the "i know how you feel" bandwagon.

But hey, all of us who have crazy parents have pretty okay dogs....so it's not *that* bad.
