I want to move. I want to be gone and not ever come back.

I'm also really fed up with this whole "I'll be your friend until I find someone better" mentality people seem to have going on. Hi, I still have feelings.

well there goes that.
Don't read the books Fran.
You'll be mad about the show for an entirely different reason.

THIS IS NOT WHAT HAPPENED IN THE BOOK
WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON??

Gosh they are two entirely different things.

At least the first "A" reveal lined up with the book...

Just gave my two weeks. I know it's for the best, but that doesn't make it any easier.

:( I hate how attached I get to jobs and the people I meet through them.

Have a ton of stuff to do today all in different areas of town. Trying to figure out he best way to accomplish them all with minimal driving. Finally said, "Screw it, I'll get up early, head in to town early, and hope I'm done by 1:00pm to make it back to my apartment to do my webinar for work."

I thought I was getting up at 8:45. Turns out I am blind and the clock really said 9:45. :madgo: There goes that plan.

Ugh still trying to get out of bed for the day. My stomach muscles feel so tight and painful right now. I feel like I had a SERIOUS tummy crunch workout yesterday or something when all I did yesterday is stay in bed sick for the most part. You don't realize how much you use your stomach muscles until you are lying in bed and actually have to try to get out of bed. Ouch!!!

At the end of next month it will be a full year since I quit the radio station.
On Monday, I was at my chiropractor's office, and he asked me if I missed working at the radio station.
I didn't even really know how to respond.

How do you say "Sometimes I miss it so much it almost physically hurts?"
And "I miss the people every single day?"
And "My life is missing this huge element of fun?"
And yet "If they offered me another job, I'm not sure I would go back - unless there was a new general manager."
And "The program director is still there, so no, I really don't miss playing that game."
And "No, pathetic little paychecks with no hope of a salary increase in the future is not something I miss at all."

I don't know how to explain it to people. You would think after almost a year it wouldn't be such a big deal. But for five years it was my life. Radio is not just a job, it's a culture. And even though part of me still has remnants of that culture, it's not my culture anymore. I feel like somebody who used to live somewhere and I don't anymore and everybody keeps talking about how fun it is to live there and I'm like "Oh yeah. I remember when I lived there..."

I dont know the situation, or if this is even feasible or a want or whatever....

What about doing some volunteer radio work? Do you have any good community or independent radio staions around? I know a couple people who volunteer with KDHX here and yes, I can very much see how much a part of them it becomes.

Ok so the horses are leaving & we Are "taking the barn down", like gathering stall ties & screw-eyes, I couldn't find a screw driver so stupid me sees a horse shoe laying around & loosens one with that, well of course I cut myself on the hand (on the fleshy part right next to your thumb) it's not a bad cut, barely deep enough to bleed when it happened.

BUT the nail was rusty, & now the cut is hurting & throbbing a little (tho that might be mostly due to the fact that its in an area where it gets bumped a lot) & I'm sitting here thinking "when was my last tetanus shot again?" & scarying myself because I. Can't. Remember.

Clearly I spoke too soon. No response after the initial response from the person who is in possession of the thing I want most. My brackets are finally done being made and have shipped, so purchasing harnesses has now become a bit more of a priority rather than just lazily scouring the internet for the last existing set of the harnesses I so desperately want.

My grandma's ideas on "man's work" and "woman's work" are driving me insane. Especially since she went against every preconceived gender role in her life, being a single working mother in a third world country. You don't think I should be stacking firewood? Remind me who stacked and chopped your wood when you lived in Russia? Do you see anyone else around here to do it?

This is what happened at work today. We opened and let the boarding dogs out for their morning potty breaks and the fence was intact. At around 8 after the first round of daycare dogs were checked in, we do a potty break/outside fun time for them. Thank dog we have the policy of doing a walk through the yard first to make sure that someone doesn't have a different group of dogs out/toy check. So sometime between 7:30 when I ran to the gas station and 8:00, someone plowed through our fence. And thank Dog nobody was outside when it happened.

Took Talon to Potty, come back with a dog bite. >_<

A corgi that was off-leash (Talon on leash) went after Talon. I tried spinning him in big circles to keep it from getting him, which was mostly successful other than a few fur grabs. But it kept getting closer to his legs and the owner of the corgi was walking over so slowly I was worried it was going to get Talon or Talon would get fed up and get the corgi. So I scooped Talon up real quick and the corgi leaped for Talon but got my leg instead. The owner then scoops the corgi up and just walks away. She didn't apologize, she didn't say anything to me, she simply picked up her dog told her dog that "that wasn't nice" and walks away. I yelled back to her to get a leash and got Talon inside and told the manager who is going to handle it. There is a on-leash at all times policy on this property.

I know most people have their dogs off leash anyways, and I don't care if it doesn't bother us, or if she would've apologized and seemed like she actually cared I probably would've just let it go unless it happened again. This is the first time I"ve seen that particular dog so another run in would be unlikely and it didn't mean to bite me necessarily, it was more of a redirected bite (not a miss talon get me, but a damnit I want that dog I'll bite you to get my frustration out instead). But not even an apology and a bit on me and serious attempted bites on Talon, yeah no. Not letting it slide.

Luckily it didn't break the skin, but I'll have some nasty bruises. Argh, why can't people understand their dog is not "harmless" no matter it's small stature?

This about sums up my day

My stomach muscles still feel really constricted. I tried stretching out today to see if the muscle pain would go away and it's just as bad as it was when I woke up this morning. I haven't worked out recently so not sure why my stomach muscles feel so sore. If I lie down I can barely get back up.

Being black and nerdy does not mean I am acting white.
Wearing j-crew does not mean I am acting white.
Reading sci-fi does not mean I am acting white.
being well read in general does not mean I am acting white.
Neither does being eloquent, well spoken, wearing polos, sperrys or anything else!!!!

a certain race does not own the monopoly on these things.

Saying that I'm "practically" not the color that I am or not like the people that I am the same color as..
is insulting as hell.
So you need to stop.

please do not EVER compare me calling you out on this to "well people always say something about it being wrong when people like me dress up like native americans!" I WILL PUNCH YOU IN THE THROAT!! Those things that people use for costumes and fun are disrespecting important parts of a CULTURE (not interest, not fad) that certain people tried to basically kill off.

Funny thing about black people (and all kinds of people) is that they are just that, people.
As much as the media would like you to believe they are a monolith of the same ideas, dress codes, likes, dislikes.. it is simply NOT TRUE.

The funny thing about stereotypes (and our brains) is when you decide they are true your brain will find all kinds of example to prove you are right. (like when you buy a car and start seeing it everywhere)

Stereotypes are an endless cycle and chain that is created by their very existence. Have you ever maybe considered that no black people you know read comic books because they live in a world where doing that isn't "socially acceptable" and someone (like you) perhaps judged them and HAD TO SAY SOMETHING about how odd it is when they tried it and the media feeds them and the idea that they aren't supposed to and the so-called "nerd world" as open and loving as it is in MANY ways, still has many many issues to overcome when it comes to race (and gender, and so many others..)

IF ONE MORE OF MY SO CALLED FRIENDS INFORMS ME THAT I AM ACTING WHITE BECAUSE I HAPPEN TO WATCH DR WHO OR READ A LOT I AM GOING TO KILL THEM OR BREAK DOWN

it makes me so mad I could cry and they think they are paying me a compliment.
and that's what makes me so SICK. They actually think they are being NICE to me. Like in what deluded world would you think that is OK to say to someone?

"Hey you are pretty cool and like the same things I like it's almost like you are like me and not like one of those lesser people who aren't lucky enough to be like me!"

That moment when you find out the guy you've been trying to "make friends with" could be underage.

There's also the chance he isn't though... I feel a bit slimy though right now knowing there's a chance he's underage.

Now begins operation "find out if this guy is of legal age but do it without being creepy". Wish me luck.

As someone who is of Native American heritage (grandmother is full blooded Cherokee) I can tell you that it is NOT the same thing & it IS offensive when people dress up or mock sacred, ceremonial outfits & "fool Around" with ritualistic items like spears, drums & rattles.

**** those people ! They are probably just jealous because you make that **** look good ;)

@skittles have you been to the doctor? I have been reading up on tetanus & some of the symptoms match what you describe ... Not trying to scare you, but I am slightly concerned, as in your pic you look quite ill :(
