Well today he is lethargic and still hasn't eaten. I called the vet and he said that if he starts to have diarrhea then to bring him in immediately as its a sign of a blockage. But if not to bring him in tomorrow if he continues to act like this so that they can do an x-ray.

Greenies have been implicated in the bowel obstruction and subsequent death of several dogs.

I would want diagnostics done IMMEDIATELY.

I strongly advise you not to wait another day.

I certainly don't want to disagree with the xrays, for peace of mind, but I would also be questioning the pancreas and how they are functioning.

Has he always had intermittent problems with vomiting/diarrhea?

Well Snoopy has returned to normal now. He has never had diarrhea, but the vomiting didn't start till I started giving him high quality treats from the holistic pet store and the vomiting stopped once I stopped giving the treats. Because the other time he had a vomiting spell it was right after giving those high quality treats. Then it started again once I gave him that bone, so I agree with vet because he said the treats from that store are most likely to rich and are upsetting his stomach.

did the vet do an xray or ultrasound? I find it hard to believe a few treats would cause this unless he was eating it as a meal which is no different than switching foods.. I doubt he ate that much of them..

No he didn't. But I doubt it was a coincidence on both times that the vomiting started when I introduced new treats.

I am sorry durbkat- but I would not trust this.. The dog needs a xray as it also had a bone.. I would not trust this. I fail to see why a few treats even different make this much of a change for him.. No way.. Get a xray or a ultrasound or please find a second vet for their opinion.. I pray I am wrong and this is not a blockage or something so the advice I am saying is what I would do if snoppy was my own dog- what I would do for one of mine.. Rule it out..

Watch him for any signs of distress.. Even a food allergy would be rare to show up that fast and that severe.. ( where is the icon for raised eyebrows..)
