So Snoopy is at the vet again. He was there about 3 to 4 weeks ago because of vomiting his food up and not eating any food here. Well they said they couldn't find anything wrong with him and that he ate a quarter of a can of wet hills science diet dog food (yuck).

Well around 5 this morning I was awoken to Snoopy vomiting. He vomited 9 times within 30 minutes and he also pee'd on my bed which is very unlike him as he has been potty trained since he was 6 months old and had just been out at 1am. He didn't eat breakfast yesterday and the vomit looked like the dinner he ate last night. He didn't eat breakfast today but did eat some treats but vomited those back up around 1pm today.

Any ideas on what may be going on or what test I should ask the vet to do? The only new things he's had was a cow ear and a one of those fresh breath bones. I got the cow ear and bone from the holistic pet food store that I get his canidae from.

Sounds like he has a mild blockage especially since he had a cows ear. Those sharp pieces do not always dissolve fast enough. I would have the vet take a look at him.

I'm sure the vets will test for numerous things.. a blockage kind of comes to my mind giving that he is throwing his meals up. But, I really don't know. :( I hope he'll be all right. When did he have the cow ear and bone?

He hasn't broken any pieces off the cow ear, he doesn't seem to like it to much. He has sucked on it but no pieces are broken off.

I gave him the cow ear and bone on sunday. He had half the bone on sunday and half yesterday.

Did he have the cow ear when he was to the vets the first time or this last time? I would have them check his gallbladder. My APBT Chalice had a real hard time she vomitted all the time I had her to three different vets the last one said it almost sounds like when my gallbladder was acting up so i put her on 4 hoilistic supplements for almost 7mos. She is better but if she gets any meat drippings she has trouble.

DaVinci, he just got the cow ear on sunday. ;)

Borzoimom, he is at the vet now. They didn't have any openings so they said the vet will examine him between appointments.

Well the vet seems to think he just has a sensitive stomach and that the bone was to rich for his stomach. They gave him 2 Cerenia shots for the vomiting and said he should be fine as long as I don't give him that bone anymore.

Its not a real bone, its one of those edible bones that freshens breath. Its similar to a greenie.

I agree, I would get the x rays done. I would request those before the pup came home. And just because it's not a real bone, does not mean it can not get stuck. If the x rays show nothing, then all the better, but if they do, then you know you have something else to look into.

oh no - Snoopy... I agree with everyone's suggestion, x-rays should be in order. Let us know how he's doing.

I will. :)

The next time he vomits we will be off to the vet for x-rays, but if he doesn't, he still has his check up on the 14th of august.
