I never said Cuba had a good economy (actually just the opposite) I simply said they had one.
I am a big fan of free enterprise as long as the government steps in to make sure that in the pursuit of profit that the people don't become cannibalized by the system (ala 1920s).
I love private ownership and entrepreneurism but all good things need to be limited. Even love can become obsession if not kept in check.
Just as everyone knows that pure communism doesn't work neither does pure unregulated capitalism.

A socialist world IS in deed the prefect on, eh? But we both must understand that such a world cannot exist as long as there is sin. Why must you insist on fighting for a system that history has prove time and again is a failure?

Socialism like capitalism in moderation does work. When you mix the two you have the best system. The USA has socialist aspects as do the most successful countries in the world. How has history proven it doesn't work?

Cuba does have oil wells but they don't produce much.
The reason I mention exporting minerals is because you said large amounts of minerals i was pointing out that they only have one mineral source that they have surplus of.
They import nearly everything besides food and they even import some of that.

no....what I was saying is....they have a very small economy compared to the USA and yet can afford to have Universal health care and a good educational system.
