Not the volunteers...in the movie he is dealing with people who volunteered their time and came from other FDs (like one guy in the movie is from NJ)

Wish I had seen this before the previous post. The First Responders he took to Cuba may have volunteered their time, but they still have the insurance they do because they are union. It is their insurance that they recieved from the union reps negotiations with the state/city.

I will have to watch it again to see how many non First Responders he took with him, maybe just that one section. Maybe Ill just call my friend who also voluteered to work on the Pile.

You have to hand it to Cuba. Their health care and education systems are fantastic compared to the USA if you figure how poor a country they are. Just think what the USA could do if we took a few lessons (in these two areas only). Cuba proves it won't break your economy and health care is not about crippling taxes it about dumping the greed.

I didn't say thriving (which is hard when the USA shuts you out) but new cars in not everything.

The fact that they have a poor economy makes my point even better. How can a country with such a bad economy (an island with few resources) manage to provide as much as they do for the sick and uneducated.

The USA is the only country, Im aware of, that has an embargo on Cuba. I can get Cuban cigars in Canada.

You do realize that you can have an economy with out capitalism. They have a GDP...much smaller but they do have one.

I don't have time to give a social studies lesson but....Your economy is your system of making, distributing and using goods and services...with that in mind, just because the government controls all of those parts doesn't mean it not an economy.

Economics is not the study of Profit. Profit is not needed to have an economy.

Gross Domestic Product has nothing to do with profit. Profit can drive people to produce more but is not required for production.

You find something else to occuppy your time, rather than look at my arguments against Mr Moore's movie because you agree with him and would rather look at a shiney bauble than have to actually think for yourself over Moore's preachings.
